Freda Lynne Rouse and Jake Thomas Friede exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony July 27 at 5 p.m. at the Wagner House, with the Rev. Troy Lee officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Fred and Jane Rouse of Pikeville and the granddaughter of Daisy Rouse, the late Willard Rouse, Marie Creech and the late John Creech of Kinston.

She is a 2004 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and Wayne Community College with an Associate in Arts degree. She is employed with the Wayne County Animal Shelter.

The groom is the son of Thomas and Luz Friede of Goldsboro and the grandson of Anniebelle Brown, the late Charles B. Brown and the late Ellen Friede.

He is a 2002 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and attended Wayne Community College’s automotive program. He is employed with Frema Motor Co.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a strapless mock two-piece mermaid gown with a sweep train. The bodice had beaded lace with pearl and lace appliqués extending to the train.

Her headpiece was a tiara with pearls and a cascading veil with pearls.

The bride carried a hand-wrapped bouquet of pink roses, green poms and purple flowers.

Natalie Everett was her sister’s maid of honor.

Brittany Creech, cousin of the bride, was the bridesmaid.

Thomas Friede was his son’s best man.

Derrick Turnage, cousin of the groom, was the groomsman.

Ushers were Michael Everett, brother-in-law of the bride, and Nicholas Creech, cousin of the bride.

Sherry Minner, aunt of the groom, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Trellie Herring, aunt of the groom. Emily Baker, friend of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Terry Batson and Mckenzie Lee, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, a dinner reception was held at the Wagner House.

After a wedding trip to Wrightsville Beach, the couple reside in Saulston.

Events held before the wedding included a luncheon July 26 at the Royal Tea Room hosted by Emily Baker and Lauren Wooten, friends of the bride; a shower July 13 at Ebenezer Methodist Church hosted by friends and family of the bride; an engagement party July 12 at the Steak Barn hosted by the groom’s parents; a bridal luncheon July 6 at Pupetta’s Restaurant hosted by Sherry Minner, Brenda Williams and Lezlie Brown; and a bridal shower June 29 hosted by Mckenzie Lee and Trellie Herring.
