Nancy Marie Harvin and Mark Daniel Nyberg of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 6 at 5 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Ryan David Rasmussen and the Rev. Andrew Ross Clark officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. Allan Brabham and Nancy Knoell Harvin of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Glenn Beckham and Elna Brabham Harvin of Raleigh and the late John and Lillian Woodley Knoell of Mission, Kan.

She graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 1999, the University of North Carolina in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2006 with a Master of Science degree in nutrition. She was a member of Omicron Nu Honor Society. She was employed at the Brody School of Medicine as a pediatric dietitian. She will be employed as a dietitian at the Wayne County Health Department.

The groom is the son of Daniel Arthur and Constance S. Nyberg of Stillman Valley, Ill., and the grandson of Leonard John and Laverna Helen Ang Nyberg of Stillman Valley and Kenneth William and Turah Constance Mathews Soderstrom of Rockford, Ill.

He graduated from Stillman Valley High School in 1997 and the Air Force Academy in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in general engineering. He is serving in the Air Force stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore an ivory Alencon lace modified A-line gown with a scalloped V-neck and hemline and lace straps.

Her headpiece was a cathedral-length ivory tulle veil with Alencon lace edges.

The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of white cymbidium orchids and hydrangeas, champagne roses and lavender wrapped in ivory silk ribbon.

Bridesmaids were Katherine Kinard Gouch of Greenville, S.C.; Jennifer Marie Jaskey of Philadelphia, Pa.; Tammy Mae Harvin of Greenville and Elizabeth Ellis Harvin of New Bern, sisters-in-law of the bride; and Marta Ann Nyberg Lofthouse of Okinawa, Japan, sister of the groom.

Matthew Olaf Nyberg of Littleton, Colo., was his brother’s best man.

Groomsmen were Capt. Cory Roger Barack of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Chad James Lindgren and Christopher Eugene Lindgren of Golden, Colo.; Zachary Robert Love of Charlotte; and Capt. Brandon Joseph Tellez of Summerville, S.C.

Ushers were Allan Slade Harvin of Greenville and Dr. Glenn Knoell Harvin of New Bern, brothers of the bride.

Scripture readers were Marissa Louise Nyberg, sister-in-law of the groom, and Capt. Nicholas Stephen Lofthouse, brother-in-law of the groom.

The saber ceremony was performed by members of the 4th Fighter Wing.

Phyllis Patterson directed the wedding.

A program of wedding music was provided by Dr. Jeremy Ernest Thompson, organist; Walter Raleigh Futrell III, vocalist; and Douglas Tart, trumpeter.

Presiding at the register was Eleanor Tayloe Kipp. Rebecca Garrett Forrest and Corrie Haswell Walston distributed programs.

Following the ceremony, a garden reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

After a wedding trip to Negril, Jamaica, the couple reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a ready-to-wed lunch Sept. 6 at the home of Mike and Caroline Ellis hosted by Sue Woodyard, Beth Ellis, Mary Ellen Ellis and Mary Ellis; a bridesmaids’ luncheon Sept. 5 at the home of Barbara Chenier hosted by Hettie Grisette, Ellen Henderson and Robin Narron; a Christmas in August shower Aug. 17 at the home of Mary Ann Parker hosted by Ms. Parker and Kathryn Spicer; a bridal shower and tea Aug. 16 at the Royal Tea Room hosted by Jan Metzler, Kim Smith, Jane Walston and Sandy Watson; a tea and bridal shower Aug. 2 at the home of Dr. Gool Gupta; a bridal shower and luncheon July 11 at the home of Pat Keim hosted by Gail Edmondson, Clare Foster, Linda Greenwood, Linda Meyer and Marsha Tucker; a a family dinner party July 11 at the home of Patricia Turlington hosted by Nancy Costa; a a dinner party July 10 at Pupetta’s Restaurant hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pittman; and a lingerie shower June 29 in Greenville hosted by Tammy Harvin and Beth Harvin, sisters-in-law, and Mary Ellis.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Lane Tree Golf Club.
