STANTONSBURG — Crystal Lynn Strickland and Justin Dale Williford exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 8 at 2 p.m. at Good News Advent Christian Church, with Jim Ellis officiating.

The bride is the daughter of William Melvin and Sylvia Strickland of Mount Olive and the granddaughter of Ruby Strickland, the late George B. Strickland and Frances Strickland of Mount Olive.

She graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 2000 and East Carolina University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority. She is employed as a kindergarten teacher with Wilson County Public Schools.

The groom is the son of William Linwood and Wanda Ellis Williford of Stantons-burg and the grandson of Thad Williford and the late Annie Blanche of Elm City and Jack Ellis and the late Grace T. Ellis of Stantonsburg.

He graduated from Beddingfield High School in 1998 and East Carolina University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science. He is employed as a network control support specialist at Branch Bank & Trust.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a satin A-line gown with a scalloped sweetheart neckline with black beaded lace and a chapel train.

Her headpiece was a waist-length veil adorned with pearls.

The bride carried a bouquet of white and blue roses.

Jennifer Braswell of Goldsboro was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Leigh Strickland of Wilson, Ginny York of Washington, Heather Blackmon of Parkton, Emily Cayton of Saratoga, Vickie Williford of Winterville and April Cobb of Farmville.

William Williford of Stantonsburg was best man.

Groomsmen were Chris Williford of Winterville, Brandon Ellis of Wilson, Joe Jacobs of Angier, Jarryd Rogers of Wilmington, Michael Williford of Elm City and Alex Flinta of Mount Olive.

Anna-Grace Williford of Winterville was flower girl. Wyatt Ellis of Nashville was ringbearer.

Rebecca Perry directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was David Perry. Dylan Strickland of Beaulaville was the wagon bearer, pulling the flower girl and ring bearer.

A program of wedding music was provided by Dickie Whitley, sound technician, and Donald Morris and Brittany Smith, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Barbara Strickland and Debbie Holbert, aunts of the bride, served the wedding cake and poured punch.

After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple reside in Wilson.

Events held before the wedding included a wedding shower in June hosted by staff at Elm City Elementary; a wedding shower in May in Mount Olive hosted by the bride’s family; and a wedding shower in April in Stantonsburg hosted by the groom’s family.

A pig picking rehearsal was held at the church.
