Lynecia Terelle Jones and Travis Omar Carraway exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 28 at 2 p.m. at St. James A.M.E. Zion Church, with the Rev. Howard McNair officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Ada Jones of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of B. Christine Rodgers and Nancy Jones of Mount Olive.

She is a 1992 graduate of Goldsboro High School, a 1996 graduate of North Carolina A&T State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering and a 2005 graduate of Central Michigan University with a Master of Science degree in administration. She is employed as an industrial engineer at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.

The groom is the son of Mamie Carraway of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late Bernice Musgrave Hamm of Goldsboro.

He is a 1990 graduate of Goldsboro High School. He will attend Wayne Community College for a degree in business administration. He is employed as a maintenance worker at Wal-Mart.

The bride was escorted by her son, Kiante’ Powell, and given in marriage by her son and mother.

She wore a formal gown of ivory satin with a chiffon overlay. The fitted bodice was enhanced with beaded lace appliqués and crystal designs. The A-line skirt featured chiffon ruching with crystal beading that flowed into a semi-cathedral train.

Her headpiece was a tiara of pearls, rhinestones and Swarovski crystals in a floral design.

The bride carried a bouquet of calla lilies and multi-colored tiger lilies and stargazers encircled with ivory drapings in a cascade of white rosebuds accented with white pearls and silver and white lace love knots.

Letitia Jones was her niece’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Micara Lewis, Marla McCoy and Shenika Robinson, friends of the bride, and Traci Myles and Shannon Peterson, sisters of the groom.

Kevin Dais was his friend’s best man.

Groomsmen were Clarence Carraway and Eric Carraway, brothers of the groom; Michael Jones and Ryan Jones, brothers of the bride; and Eric Reid, friend of the groom.

Ushers were Kristofer Carraway, nephew of the groom, and Jamelle Best, Rodriquez Hamilton and Timmie Taylor, friends of the groom.

Chyna Faison, cousin of the bride, and Kendall Myles, niece of the groom, were flower girls. John Peterson III, nephew of the groom, was ringbearer.

Verna Best, friend of the couple, directed the wedding.

Hostesses were Keauna Carraway, niece of the groom; Toneka Hayes, sister of the bride; Karen Jones, aunt of the bride; and Keshia Smith, friend of the bride.

A program of wedding music was provided by Stephanie Bell, Antwanette Best and Pamela Dudley, vocalist, and Kevin Alston, organist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Seymour Johnson AFB Officers’ Club.

After a wedding trip to Orlando, Fla., the couple reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a bachelor party June 26 at the home of the best man hosted by the groomsmen; a bachelorette party June 21 at Comfort Suites hosted by the maid of honor and bridesmaids; a bridal shower June 7 at Madison’s Restaurant hosted by the maid of honor and bridesmaids; and a girls’ night Feb. 9 hosted by co-workers of the bride.

The couple hosted a rehearsal dinner June 27 at St. James A.M.E. Zion Church. They chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
