KINSTON — Jennifer Rae Draughon and Daniel Allen Baynes of Wendell exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 28 at 3 p.m. at Westminster United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Billy Olsen officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Edgar Alexander Holt III and Pamela Miller Holt of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Edgar Alexander Holt Jr. and Lena Futrell Holt of Princeton and Charles Samuel and Joyce Thompson Miller of Cordele, Ga.

She graduated from Rosewood High School and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education. She is employed as a first grade teacher at Rosewood Elementary.

The groom is the son of Aubrey Sidney Baynes Sr. and Ann Knott Baynes of Wendell and the grandson of the late Aubrey Hester and Mary Tedder Baynes, the late Marsh Wendell and Marjorie Heath Knott of Wendell.

He graduated from East Wake High School and North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. He is employed as a history teacher and football, track and golf coach at Rosewood High School.

The bride was escorted by Ed Holt and Al Draughon and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore an ivory strapless gown of duchess satin. The fitted bodice of Alencon lace was embroidered with needlework accented with pearls and crystals. The Basque waistline led to a flowing skirt embellished with crystals and pearls that swept to a cathedral train.

Her headpiece was a crystal tiara with a fingertip veil beaded with crystals and pearls.

Jerri-Rae Phillips of Goldsboro was matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Nicole Draughon of Raleigh, sister-in-law of the bride; Elizabeth Hall of Wallace and Emily Holt of Goldsboro, sisters of the bride; Elizabeth Johnson of Wendell, sister of the groom; Farrah Baynes of Wendell, sister-in-law of the groom; Alisha Murray of Wilmington; and Lindsay Caldwell of Clayton.

Aubrey Sidney Baynes Sr. was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Sidney Baynes of Wendell, brother of the groom; Greg Johnson of Wendell, brother-in-law of the groom; Al Draughon of Raleigh, brother of the bride; Wynne Dunn and Andy Page of Raleigh; Jack Tantum of Smithfield; and Jerry Richardson of Wendell.

Lexi Clucas, friend of the bride, was flower girl. Jackson Hall, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.

Ann Robinson of Kinston directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Brent and Rebecca Snowden, friends of the groom. Ethan Hall, nephew of the bride, and Caroline Clucas, friend of the bride, distributed programs.

Kaitlyn Rae Draughon, niece of the bride, was the baby of honor.

Honorary bridesmaids were Melissa Smith, Meghan Fields and Kerri Nash of Goldsboro and Shelli Bejarano of Homestead, Fla.

A program of wedding music was provided by Judy Lewis, pianist; Jamie Clucas, vocalist; Marshalle Lewis, organist; and Krista Kala, violinist.

Following the ceremony, a reception and dance were held at Kinston Country Club.

After a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a wedding day luncheon June 2 hosted by Rudy and Edwina Oliver and Al and Nicole Draughon; a bridesmaids’ luncheon June 27 at the Royal Tea Room hosted by Joyce Miller and Melanie Harpe; a bachelorette weekend and monogram shower June 13 through 15 in Wilmington hosted by Jerri-Rae Phillips and the bridesmaids; a bridal shower June 8 at Pine Forest United Methodist Church hosted by the church women; a lingerie shower June 1 at the home of Noelle Woods hosted by Ms. Woods and friends of the bride; a luau dinner and dance May 31 at the Steak Barn hosted by friends of the bride; a bridal shower May 27 at Rosewood Elementary hosted by staff and faculty; a wedding shower May 21 hosted by Rosewood High School staff and faculty; a bachelor weekend May 16 through 18th in Emerald Isle hosted by friends of the groom; a dinner party and kitchen and grill shower April 26 at the home of Steve and Kay Meadows hosted by the Meadows; a tool and garden shower March 9 at the home of Sidney and Farrah Baynes hosted by the Bayneses and Greg and Elizabeth Johnson; and a Christmas shower Dec. 28 at the home of Jerri-Rae Phillips hosted by Ms. Phillips and Brenda Pearson.

A rehearsal dinner was held June 27 at Kinston Country Club.
