MOUNT OLIVE — Julie Amanda Sasser of Dudley and Carlton Lynn Greeno of Dudley exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 31 at 4 p.m. at Jordan’s Chapel Baptist Church, with Pastor Ray Smeltzer officiating.

The bride is the daughter of J. Eugene and Cathy W. Sasser of Four Oaks and the granddaughter of the late Alton and Lucy Epps Amerson of Goldsboro, the late Richard Bruce and Mary Lou Williams of Four Oaks and the late Luby Guy Sasser.

She is a graduate of Southern Wayne High School. She is employed as a registrar with the Boy Scouts of America.

The groom is the son of Leonard Bob Greeno and the late Betty June Greeno of Rock Island, Tenn., and the grandson of the late Kenneth and Harriet S. Greeno of Frankfurt, Ind., the late Alton Bouldin of Bone Cave, Tenn., and Ruth Keaster of Tampa, Fla.

He is a graduate of Warren County High School in Tennessee and Johnston Community College’s EMT-paramedic program. He is employed as a paramedic with Wayne County EMS.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by parents, and son, Justin.

She wore an ivory satin gown with re-embroidered lace adorned with crystal beading and sequins with a semi-cathedral train with a claret inlay.

Her headpiece was shoulder-length attached to a tiara adorned with pearls and crystal beading.

Kelly Sasser was her sister’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Kim Averitt, Tiffany Mills and Ashley Smith, friends of the bride.

Jeff Greeno was his cousin’s best man.

Groomsmen were Dakota Greeno, son of the groom, and Grady Johnson and Felix Moody, friends of the groom.

Ushers were Mike Anderson and Ted Grantham, cousins of the bride.

Katie Anderson, cousin of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid.

Sarah Anderson, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Justin Peterson, son of the bride, was ringbearer.

Cynthia Aldridge directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Hannah Grantham, cousin of the bride. Christopher Averitt, friend of the couple, distributed programs.

Connie Feige, Debra Grantham and Leigh Grantham, cousins of the bride, and Crystal Jones, friend of the bride, were special helpers.

A program of wedding music was provided by Whitney Grantham, cousin of the bride, and Doug and Celena Smith, vocalists; Frankie Smeltzer, organist; and Jonathan Jones, trumpeter.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception in the church fellowship hall. Assisting were Susan Williford, cousin of the bride; Debbie Mills, Mae Robinson and Karen Truckenbrod, friends of the couple; and Teresa Crisp, friend of the family. Dwight and Pat Rose greeted guests. Barbara Sullivan, aunt of the bride, poured punch. Brenda Grantham, aunt of the bride, and Debbie Grantham, cousin of the bride, cut the wedding cake.

After a wedding trip to Asheville, the couple reside in Dudley.

Events held before the wedding included a surprise lingerie shower May 24 at the home of Debbie and Tiffany Mills hosted by the Mills; a bridesmaids’ dinner May 24 at Logans; and a shower April 20 hosted by Jordan’s Chapel Baptist WMU.

The groom and the bride’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner May 30 at Jordan’s Chapel Baptist Church fellowship hall. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
