GRANTHAM — Michelle Jayne Hood and Jesse Brian Craig exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of the bride’s parents, with the Rev. Patrick Muston officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Manfred and Gail Hood of Grantham and the granddaughter of Manfred Sr. and Delores Hood of Grantham and the late Braxton and Nita Grimes of Smith Chapel.

She graduated from Southern Wayne High School and Wayne Community College with a degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at Home Health and Hospice.

The groom is the son of Ron and Debbie Craig of Grantham and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ercel Craig of West Plains, Mo., and Marilyn Grey of Lake Elsinore, Calif.

He graduated from Southern Wayne High School and Wayne Community College with a degree in animal science. He is self-employed as a swine farmer.

The bride was escorted by her father and son and given in marriage by her parents and son.

She wore a mermaid-style formal gown of white satin with a strapless sweetheart neckline. The bodice and skirt were adorned with beaded metallic embroidery and flowed into a chapel train.

Her headpiece was a chapel-length veil attached to a tiara accented with pearls and rhinestones.

The bride carried a cascading bouquet of Casablanca lilies, dendrobium orchids and white stock accented with variegated lily grass.

Scuttie Hood was maid of honor.

Megan Hood was the bridesmaid.

Ron Craig was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Colby Craig and Cody Craig.

Ushers were Jonathan Randall, Marc Morris, Scott Fuller, Reginald Davis and Shane Craig.

Skylar Craig and Ivy Hood were flower girls. G.I. Hood was ringbearer.

Honorary attendants were Brittany Craig, Casey Fuller, Amber Craig and Braxton Hood, son of the bride.

Hilda Grimes and Barbara Burch directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Mr. and Mrs. Shane Craig.

A program of wedding music was provided by Anna Crumpton, harpist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

After a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple reside in Grantham.

Events held before the wedding included a luau and gift card shower April 5 at the home of Jamie and Amy Grimes hosted by Hilda Grimes, Ashley Cashie Grimes and Jamie and Amy Grimes and a miscellaneous shower March 29 at Selah Church hosted by family of the bride.

The groom’s parents hosted a pig picking rehearsal at their home in Grantham.
