CALYPSO — Jennifer Blair Jones and Christopher Ryan Cox exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 12 at 5:30 p.m. at Calypso Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Greg Day, the Rev. Tyanna Yonkers-Day and the Rev. Chris Currie officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Carl Steve and Debra Langley Jones of Calypso and the granddaughter of the late Francis Marion “Red” and Mary Weaver Jones of Mount Olive and the late Cecil Marion and June Guy Langley of Calypso.

She graduated from North Duplin High School in 2001 and East Carolina University in 2006 with a bachelor of science degree. She is employed as a CBRS provider at Kommunikate Plus Inc.

The groom is the son of W. Ray Cox Jr. and Elizabeth McGinnis Cox of Greer, S.C., and the grandson of the late Wilbur R. Cox Sr. and Marth Faust Cox of Albany, Ga., and Edith White and the late William Albert McGinnis of Tallapoosa, Ga.

He graduated from Blue Ridge High School in South Carolina in 2002. He is serving in the Air Force.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a formal gown of ivory satin with a strapless neckline. The bodice was adorned with rhinestones, crystals, sequins, beads and layered pleating along the empire waist. The beaded A-line skirt was embroidered and flowed into a chapel-length train.

Her headpiece was a two-tiered veil of silk illusion trimmed in sequins and seed beads.

The bride carried a cascading bouquet of stargazer lilies and stephanotis.

Brandi Schoolcraft was her sister’s matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Amanda Merritt, cousin of the bride, and Laura Cox, sister of the groom.

W. Ray Cox Jr. was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Kevin Schoolcraft, brother-in-law of the bride, and Skyler Denison, friend of the groom.

Karli Schoolcraft, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Tyler Schoolcraft, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.

Cecile Mooney, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Emily Lancaster, friend of the couple. Cinidi McGovern, friend of the couple, distributed programs.

David Merritt, friend of the couple, was candlelighter.

A program of wedding music was provided by Brandi Worth, vocalist; Gloria Morgan, organist; Jon Kornegay and Paul Kornegay, violinists; and Caleb Day, trumpeter.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Southern Wayne Country Club.

After a wedding trip to Disney World, Orlando, Fla., the couple reside in Mount Olive.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal luncheon April 12 at Murphy’s Place hosted by Cecile Mooney, Faye Brock, Crystal Miller, Carolyn Burroughs and Brandi Hamm during which time the bride chose to present gifts to her attendants; a dinner April 4 at Calypso Presbyterian Church hosted by Pro-Med’s “Round Table;” a girls’ night March 29 at the home of Brandi Schoolcraft hosted by Amanda Merritt and Ms. Schoolcraft; a miscellaneous shower March 22 at Calypso Presbyterian Church hosted by ladies of the church; a miscellaneous shower March 9 at the home of Emily Lancaster hosted by Ms. Lancaster and Donna Ricks; and a Christmas shower Dec. 9 at the home of Gail Herring hosted by Ms. Herring and Rose Carter.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner April 11 at Oasis Oyster Bar and Grill in Clinton. The groom chose this time to present gifts to his attendants.
