Valerie Lynn Stephens and Gregory Scott Linn of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony March 15 at 3 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Neal Wingfield officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Curtis William Jr. and Andrea Beamon Stephens of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Virginia Morrison Stephens and the late Curtis William Stephens Sr. of Lillington and the late Elton Andrew and Lillian Bishop Beamon of Goldsboro.

She is a 1990 graduate of Goldsboro High School and a 1995 graduate of Campbell University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She is employed at WAGES.

The groom is the son of Georgia Clark and the late Lloyd Albert Linn of Hood River, Ore., and the grandson of the late John and Betty Linn of Los Angeles, Calif., and the late Calvin Wesley and Barbara Robinson Clark of Hood River.

He is a graduate of Mayfair High School in Lakewood, Calif., and Cerritos College in Norwalk, Calif., with a degree in business marketing. He is employed as salesman at Adamsville Auto Sales.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a formal gown of ivory and lavender satin enhanced with re-embroidered lace appliqués throughout. The bodice featured a square neckline embellished with pearls and sequins that lead to an empire waist. The A-Line skirt flowed into a semi-cathedral train with a scalloped lace hemline.

Her headpiece was a beaded tiara attached to a finger-tip veil.

The bride carried a bouquet of lavender roses hand-tied with ribbon.

Karen Hagerman was her sister’s matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Sarah Kerley Stephens, sister-in-law of the bride, and Larue Snipes, friend of the bride.

Mike Bowe was his friend’s best man.

Groomsmen were Curtis William Stephens III, brother of the bride, and Nicholas Hagerman, brother-in-law of the bride.

Calisa Ann Hagerman, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Jacob Timothy Stephens, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.

Lynette Overman, friend of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Susan Bartlett, friend of the bride. Danny Lethco, friend of the bride, distributed programs.

Cecila Snipes of Buies Creek and Samatha Overman of Goldsboro, friends of the bride, were special helpers.

A program of wedding music was provided by Robert Montague Jr., friend of the bride’s family, vocalist, and Betty Kantzer, friend of the bride’s family, organist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in Salem Hall.

After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a bachelor party March 14 hosted by Mike Bowe; a bachelorette party March 14 hosted by Karen Hagerman, sister of the bride; a surprise shower March 12 at Torero’s Mexican Restaurant hosted by co-workers of the bride; a miscellaneous shower Feb. 17 at Salem Church hosted by women of the church; a brunch Feb. 16 at the Royal Tea Room hosted by the bride and her mother; a miscellaneous shower Nov. 17 at the home of Virginia Stephens, grandmother of the bride, hosted by Mrs. Stephens, and Joyce Latta and Loyce DiPasquantonio, aunts of the bride; and a pig picking engagement party April 21 at the home of the couple hosted by the bride’s parents.

The bride’s parents held a rehearsal dinner March 14th at the Steak Barn. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
