Alease Coneva Watkins and Donald James Kennedy exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. at Rosewood First Baptist Church, with Larry Bostian officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Ressie Wayne and Coneva Grantham Watkins of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Ressie Linus and Lucille Cooper Watkins, Mary Stuckey and the late Herman Rudolph Grantham of Goldsboro.

She is a 2006 graduate of Wayne Christian School and attends Wayne Community College. She is employed as a medical records technician at Wayne Heart and Internal Medicine Associates.

The groom is the son of Donald Hughs Kennedy and the late Kimberly Edith Howell of Goldsboro and the grandson of Carolyn Lakey Kennedy, the late James B. Kennedy and Lorriane and the late Jim Howell of Goldsboro.

He is a 2004 graduate of the Wayne Community High School program and a 2006 graduate of Wayne Community College’s emergency medical technician-intermediate program. He is employed as an emergency medical technician-intermediate at Wayne Heart and Internal Medicine Associates.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a white formal-length halter-style dress of white bridal satin with an overlay of silk illusion accented with crystal beads.

Her headpiece was a two-tiered fingertip-length veil of silk illusion.

The bride carried a bouquet of white lilies accented with white flowers with accents of shear blue ribbon.

Mara Stephens was her friend’s maid of honor.

Donald Hughs Kennedy was his son’s best man.

Ushers were Tal and Matthew Watkins, brothers of the bride.

Katherine Grantham, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Jacob Watkins, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.

Pam Grantham, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Jessica Watkins, niece of the bride. Rachel Grantham, cousin of the bride, distributed programs.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the church’s Braswell Hall. Servers were Ellen Nenichka, Jeanna Head, Emily Pridgen and Amanda Powers, co-workers of the couple.

After a wedding trip to Atlantic Beach, the couple reside in Goldsboro.

The groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner at Rosewood First Baptist Church.
