Mindy Ann Glover and William Leon “Will” Lane Jr. exchanged wedding vows in a double-ring ceremony Dec. 8 at 5:30 p.m. at the home of the bride, with the Rev. Barry Stallings and the Rev. David Allen officiating.

The bride is the daughter of David and Becky Glover of Pikeville and the granddaughter of Alton Parnell, the late Pat Parnell and the late Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Glover.

She is pursuing a degree in education with the Wachovia East Partnership program through East Carolina University. She is employed as an instructional assistant at Northwest Elementary School.

The groom is the son of William and Judy Lane of Rockwell and the grandson of Bonnie Adams, the late Billy Adams and the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lane.

He is employed as a professional singer with the Driven Quartet, a gospel group based in Charlotte.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a white matte satin gown with a Queen Ann sweetheart neckline accented with beaded long sleeves tapered in at the wrist. The bodice was enhanced with Alencon lace decorated with seed pearls and highlighted with a Basque waistline. The back of the gown featured a sheer overlay covered with crystal beading and finished with satin-covered buttons. The full ballroom skirt was embellished with matching Alencon lace appliqués and a scalloped hemline that flowed into a Castilian-length train.

Kelly Finch of Pikeville was her sister’s matron of honor, while Amy Johnson of Raleigh, friend of the bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Amy Reinhardt of Concord, sister of the groom, and Mary Beth Hooks of Raleigh, Paige Howell of Pikeville and Crystal Gray of Goldsboro, friends of the bride.

William Lane Sr. was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Ron Porter of Matthews, Jason Funderburk of Indian Trail, Chad Smith of Taylorsville and Alex Woolard of Sneads Ferry, friends of the groom; Gary Reinhart of Concord, brother-in-law of the groom; and Edwin Finch of Pikeville, brother-in-law of the bride.

Samantha Futrelle and Meredith Futrelle, cousins of the bride, were junior bridesmaids.

Aaron Parnell and Bradley Glover of Pikeville, cousins of the bride, were acolytes.

Shari Stewart, friend of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Dana and Johnny Johnson.

Stephanie Smith was a special helper.

George and Renee Futrelle greeted guests. Dennis and Kathryne Parnell said good-byes.

A program of music was provided by Carlota Clevenger, harpist; Paige Barwick, violinist; and Renee Futrelle, pianist; and Kelly Finch, Willie Lane Sr. and the groom, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Lane Tree Golf Club. Martie McCall was director. Reception elves were Lyndsey and Cassie Parnell, Elizabeth Harts and Taylor Glover. Charles and Judy Fitch and Phyllis and Jerry Kirby greeted guests.

After a wedding trip to Bryson City, the couple reside in Pikeville.

Events held before the wedding included a bridesmaid’s brunch Dec. 7 at the home of Martie McCall hosted by Leslie Parsons and Ms. McCall; a tree trimming party Dec. 1 at the home of the bride hosted by friends of the bride; a surprise shower Nov. 29 at Northwest Elementary School hosted by Mrs. Lewis’ fourth-grade class; a surprise shower Nov. 19 at Northwest Elementary School hosted by Mrs. Coerver’s first-grade class; a lingerie shower Nov. 10 at the Finch home hosted by Phyllis Kirby, Judy Fitch and Kelly Finch; a bachelorette weekend Nov. 10 in Atlantic Beach hosted by Martie McCall; a miscellaneous shower Nov. 4 at Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church hosted by friends and family; a miscellaneous shower Oct. 23 hosted by the staff of Northwest School; a lawn and garden shower Oct. 23 at the home of Crystal Gray hosted by Elizabeth Fleming, Paige Howell and Ms. Gray; a miscellaneous shower Sept. 29 at the home of Cheryl Hooks hosted by Amy Johnson, Mary Beth Hooks, Beth Hooks, Ms. Hooks and Jennifer Johnson; a recipe shower Aug. 26 at the home of Christine Satterfield hosted by Ms. Satterfield, Georgia Crumpler and Maude Pittman; and a Hawaiian luau and gift card shower July 23 at the home of Kelly and Edwin Finch hosted by the Finches.

The groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner was held Dec. 7 at Mike’s Farm.
