Jessica Renee Hardison and Tyler Gardner exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Nov. 3 at 4 p.m. at Pine Forest United Methodist Church, with Billy Olsen officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Elmore and Katherine Hardison of Calypso and the granddaughter of the late Ellis Hardison and Sudie Hardison of Mount Olive and Mack McClenny and the late Doris McClenny of Clinton.

She is a 2002 graduate of North Duplin High School. She is employed as an EMT intermediate at Wayne County EMS.

The groom is the son of Timothy and Teresa Gardner of Goldsboro and the grandson of Esther Gardner, the late John Carter “J.C.” Gardner and Donald and Annette Radford of Goldsboro.

He is a 2002 graduate of Rosewood High School and a 2004 graduate of Wayne Community College with a turf grass management degree. He is employed as a tech-1 inspector with the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a formal gown of white satin with a strapless neckline. The bodice was enchanted with beading. The skirt was semi-cathedral with a slit in the back outlined in beading.

Her headpiece was a crystal and pearl tiara with a fingertip-length veil trimmed in satin.

The bride carried a bouquet of white calla lilies.

Jillneal Cotton was her sister’s matron of honor, while Tiffany Swinson, friend of the bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Lauren Gardner, sister of the groom; Jesi Knowles-Brock and Wendy Carter, friends of the bride; and Lindsey Pearsall, cousin of the bride.

Tim Gardner was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Walter Render, David Grice and Jason Smith, friends of the groom; Dewayne Hardison, brother of the bride; and Chris Ginn, cousin of the groom.

Ushers were Chris Cotton, brother-in-law of the bride; Chris Pearsall, cousin of the bride; and Chris Howell, friend of the groom.

Haley Cotton, niece of the bride, and Emilee Swinson, cousin of the groom, were flower girls. Hunter Cotton, nephew of the bride, and Danny Capps, cousin of the groom, were ringbearers.

Susan Pearsall, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Ellen Ginn, cousin of the groom. Ellen Pope, cousin of the groom, distributed programs.

Jesi Knowles-Brock, Gena Wall, Pat Holland, Sahannon Booth and Rodney and Anne Dunn were special helpers.

A program of wedding music was provided by Patsy Gardner, cousin of the groom, pianist, and Robin and Walton Aycock, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at Southern Wayne Country Club.

After a wedding trip to Bedford, Va., the couple reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a Christmas Shower Oct. 28 at the home of Jillneal Cotton hosted by Mrs. Cotton, Lauren Gardner and Joyce Cotton; a bachelorette and bachelor party Oct. 29 hosted by friends of the couple; a miscellaneous shower Oct. 7 hosted by Faison Rescue; a bridal shower Sept. 30 at Free Chapel Church hosted by the groom’s family; a bridal shower Sept. 23 at Pine Forest Church hosted by the adult Sunday school class; and a miscellaneous shower Sept. 22 at the home of the bride’s mother hosted by the bride’s family.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Nov. 2 at Pine Forest Church.
