PLANO, Texas — Julie Anne Boughton of Plano, Texas, and Nathan Steele Overman of Plano exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 13 at 3 p.m. at First Christian Church, with the Rev. Bruce R. Grentz officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Jill Perez of Plano and the late Jeff Boughton and the stepdaughter of Ray Perez. She is the granddaughter of Evelyn Boughton of San Leon, Texas; the late James Boughton; Billy Richardson of Liberty, Texas; Evonne Anglesy of Beaumont, Texas; and Raymond and Lucy Perez of Garland, Texas.

She graduated from East Senior High School in Plano in 1997. She is employed as a store manager at Express, LLC.

The groom is the son of John and Lynette Overman of Pikeville and the grandson of Elizabeth Overman of Pikeville, the late Quinten Overman, and Ted and Alice Tillman of Goldsboro.

He is a 1999 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2003 graduate of Wayne Community College. He is employed as a video game level designer at Gearbox Software.

The bride was escorted by her step-father and given in marriage by her family.

She wore a strapless gown of ivory duchess satin with champagne trim on the bodice and back inset. The dress had a chapel length train and was beaded on the bodice and hem.

She wore a pearl and rhinestone tiara.

The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of ivory dahlias, violet bell flowers and sprigs of delphinium.

Stephanie Schiefer of Plano, friend of the bride, served as matron of honor, while Misti Jackson of Plano, friend of the bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Samantha Overman of Goldsboro, sister-in-law of the groom; Rebecca Phillips of Chapel Hill, cousin of the groom; and Cheril Chambers of Plano, friend of the bride.

Matthew Overman of Goldsboro, brother of the groom, served as best man.

Groomsmen were Mitchell Phillips of Charlotte, cousin of the groom; Aaron Johnson of Pikeville, friend of the groom; and Michael Neumann of Plano, friend of the groom.

Ushers were Calvin Schiefer of Plano, friend of the couple, and Chris Boughton of Plano, brother of the bride.

Kaylin Boughton of Plano, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Aidan Schiefer of Plano, friend of the couple, was ringbearer.

Presiding at the register was Bonnie Pickel. Thera O’Hearn distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Michele Sargent, pianist.

After the service, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.

After a wedding trip to Bryson City, the couple reside in Plano.

A rehearsal dinner was held on Oct. 12 at Abuelo’s.

Events before the wedding included a bachelor party on Oct. 12, hosted by friends of the groom; a reception held Sept. 29 at Salem Hall in Goldsboro, hosted by the groom’s family; a bachelorette party held Sept. 15 in Plano and hosted by friends of the bride; and a bridal shower held Aug. 12 at the home of Stephanie Schiefer in Plano and hosted by friends of the bride.
