GOLDSBORO — Sarah Anne Shoop and Jerrod Westley Harden exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 20 at 4 p.m. at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Officers’ Club, with the Rev. Gene Martin officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Deborah Anne Shoop of Pikeville and the granddaughter of Gordon H. and Arlene Nuckols of Kannapolis, and the late Anne Smith Nuckols of Raleigh.

She graduated from C.B. Aycock High School where she was a 4-year member of JROTC. She will be attending Nash Community College in the spring. She is employed as a customer service representative at Lane Bryant.

The groom is the son of Phillip and Margie Harden of Nashville and the grandson of Fendel and Emily King of Hertford and Ruth Rukes and the late Ova Hoffman of Terre Haute, Ind.

He graduated from Northern Nash High School where he was a member of JROTC. He is employed in PC Technical Support at MBM Corporation.

The bride was escorted by family friend Daniel Hale and given in marriage by her family.

She wore a formal gown of ivory satin featuring a strapless neckline flowing into an A-line skirt. The bodice was enhanced with a beaded lace motif. The long-sleeve lace overlay that was handbeaded with sequins and pearls extended into a semi-cathedral train. The bride chose as her headpiece a gold band of pearls and rhinestones extending into a veil of silk illusion scattered with ivory pearls.

Stacey Penza was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Amanda Harden and Jessica Harden, sisters of the groom.

Jason Wall, friend of the groom, served as best man.

Groomsmen were David McMillian, friend of the groom; Ben Foster and Brian Shoop, brothers of the bride.

Keona McMillian, friend of the couple, and Courtney Foster, niece of the bride, were junior bridesmaids.

Danielle McMillian, friend of the couple, was flower girl. Will Foster, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.

Noli Hamczyk directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Jessica Shoop. Ellen King created the ivory cream wedding cake decorated with autumn leaves in colored fondant.

Music was provided by John Stutts, vocalist.

A reception and dinner followed the ceremony in the ballroom of the SJAFB Officers’ Club. Dancing followed with music provided by deejay Rick Good.

After a wedding trip to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tenn., the couple reside in Sharpsburg.

There was a post-rehearsal dinner at McCall’s Restaurant in Goldsboro, hosted by the groom’s parents.

Events before the wedding included a bridal shower and luncheon, hosted by the bride’s sister-in-law, Jessica Shoop, and the bride’s mother, at Texas Steakhouse on Oct. 13, and a bachelorette party at the home of Dave and Eileen Audette, hosted by Stacey Penza, maid of honor.
