Phillips - Pearson
TOPSAIL BEACH — Jerri-Rae Pearson and Robby Gene Phillips exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 25 at 6:30 p.m., with the Rev. Gary Bailey officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Jerry Wayne and Brenda Sullivan Pearson of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Lacy Lynwood and Ann McIver Pearson of Clinton and Charles Ray and Marguerite Howell Sullivan of Goldsboro.
She graduated from Rosewood High School in 1999 and East Carolina University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical geography and a minor in business administration. She is a member of Gamma Theta Upsilon International Geographical Honor Society. She is employed at Pearson Pump Sales and Service.
The groom is the son of Bobby Gene and Lori Anne Phillips of Goldsboro and the grandson of Bobby Ray and Norma Jean Phillips of Princeton and Anne Price Coley and the late Roy Allen Coley of Goldsboro.
He graduated from Rosewood High School in 2000 and North Carolina State University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in construction engineering and management. He is employed at Pearson Pump Sales and Service.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a strapless silk tulle and French lace ivory gown in ivory with a hoop detail accentuating the gathered skirt and details in the fabric.
Her headpiece was a green cymbidium orchid in her hair.
The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of green cymbidium orchids accented with various greenery and pink ribbon.
Jennifer Draughon of Goldsboro was her friend’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Christie Phillips of Goldsboro, sister of the groom; Joy Gardner of Greenville, Katie Wall of Clayton and Kendra Barrett of Mebane, friends of the bride, and Lindsey Gilstrap of Goldsboro, cousin of the bride.
Bobby Phillips was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Luke Pearson of Wilmington, brother of the bride; Jamie Phillips of Goldsboro, brother of the groom; and Jeremey Smith of Holly Springs, Tri Myers of Irving, Texas, and Peter Fabrizio of Goldsboro, friends of the groom.
Karis Gilstrap of Goldsboro, cousin of the bride, was seashell girl.
Dawn Gardner of Goldsboro, friend of the family, directed the wedding.
A program of wedding music was provided by Kay Gurley of Goldsboro, aunt of the bride, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at Historical Assembly Building of Topsail Beach. Emily Carr Waddell and Joshua Gordon Smith of Goldsboro, friends of the couple, greeted guests.
After a wedding trip to St. Thomas, St. Martin and San Juan, the couple reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a breakfast Aug. 25 in Surf City hosted by Tom and Sharon Barwick; a bridesmaids’ dinner Aug. 17 at Pupetta’s Italian Restaurant hosted by Marguerite Sullivan, Kay Gurley and Dawn Gardner during which time the bride presented gifts to her attendants; a bachelor night out Aug. 11 in Raleigh hosted by Jeremey Smith; a miscellaneous bridal shower Aug. 5 at the home of Lori Phillips hosted by Ms. Phillips, Anne Coley and Kelly Pelt; a bachelorette weekend/lingerie shower June 22 through 24 in Charlotte hosted by Jennifer Draughon and Pam Holt; a tool and garden shower June 10 at the home of Bruce and Angela Pearson of Sanford hosted by the Pearsons; a miscellaneous bridal shower April 29 at Belfast Fire Department hosted by Marguerite Sullivan, Kay Gurley, Edith Sullivan, Rhonda Taylor, Terri Sullivan and Bertha Pate; and a Christmas shower Dec. 29 at the home of Dawn Gardner hosted by Ms. Gardner and Joy Gardner.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Mainsail Restaurant in Surf City. The groom chose this time to present gifts to his attendants.
