WILMINGTON — Meredith Grady Price of Greenville and Aldon Holmes Cox of Leland exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony July 14 at 6 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert Bauman officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Durwood McKinley Price of Mount Olive and the late Beneshia Sullivan Price and the granddaughter of the late Durwood M. and Minnie Grady Price and Gay Hussey of Mount Olive and the late William G. Sullivan.

She is a 2000 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2004 graduate of North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and attends East Carolina University for a Masters/Specialist degree in school psychology. She was a member of Alpha Phi sorority. She is employed as a psychological intern with Onslow County Public Schools.

The groom is the son of James Foster and Annette Holmes Cox of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late Emin Foster, Evelyn Braxton Cox and the late Gilbert and Mary Lou Grady Holmes.

He is a 1998 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2003 graduate of North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. He is employed as a civil engineer with Cavanaugh and Associates.

The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father.

She wore a diamond white strapless gown of Duchess satin with a sweetheart neckline. The bodice featured a full-A line skirt with box pleats in the front, a beaded waistline and a low back with scattered beading along the cathedral train.

Her headpiece was a single-tiered cathedral-length veil with satin cording along the edges attached to a silver hairpin of rhinestones and pearls.

The bride carried a nosegay bouquet of white calla lilies with stephanotis interspersed throughout wrapped in an off-white satin ribbon.

Summer Kristen Price of Mount Olive was her sister’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Kerri Lee Bielski of Plymouth Meeting, Pa., Leslie Aaron Holmes of Charlotte, Jennifer Agnes McIlmail of Dunn and Holly Smith Williams of Mount Olive, friends of the bride.

James Foster Cox was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Sterling James-Charles Price of Mount Olive, brother of the bride, and Michael Fred Cox Jr., Timothy William Fail and Christopher Brian Brock of Goldsboro, friends of the groom.

Ushers were John Foster Cox and Stanton Ralph Cox of Goldsboro, Brian Gilbert Cox of Garner and James Braxton Cox of Mount Olive, brothers of the groom.

Hannah Evelyn Cox, niece of the groom, was flower girl. Andrew Robert Cox, nephew of the groom, was ringbearer.

Presiding at the register was Thomas Hammett Hames, friend of the bride. Brett Foster Cox, nephew of the groom, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Kimberly Carlyle Cherry, cousin of the bride, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, a reception and dance was held at Saint Thomas Preservation Hall of Wilmington.

After a wedding cruise to the western Caribbean, the couple reside in Leland.

Events held before the wedding included a bridesmaids’ luncheon July 13 at Pilot House restaurant of Wilmington hosted by Mrs. William Sullivan, grandmother of the bride, and Brenda Cherry, aunt of the bride, during which time the bride presented gifts to her attendants; a dinner party June 30 at Country Squire restaurant of Warsaw hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Randy McCullen, Mr. and Mrs. Brandon Warren, Chandler McCullen and Brandi Clark; a honeymoon shower June 23 at Elijah’s restaurant of Wilmington hosted by Jennifer McIlmail, friend of the bride; a girl’s weekend June 22 through 24 in Wilmington hosted by Leslie Holmes, friend of the bride; a bachelor party June 22 through 24 in Myrtle Beach, S.C., hosted by Timothy Fail, Christopher Brock and Michael Fred Cox Jr., friends of the groom; a miscellaneous shower June 16 hosted by the Ina Mixon Circle of Goldsboro Friends Meeting; a kitchen shower June 10 at the home of Stefanie Cox hosted by Stefanie Cox, Melanie Cox, Natalie Cox and Judy Cox, sisters-in-law of the groom; a guys’ weekend June 2 and 3 in Core Banks hosted by the groom’s father and John Cox, Stanton Cox, Brian Cox and James Cox, brothers of the groom; a miscellaneous shower May 27 at Zion United Methodist Church community building hosted by Lou Ann Price, aunt of the bride, Summer Price, sister of the bride, and Jerri Lou Price and Melissa Price, cousins of the bride; and a Christmas shower Dec. 17 at the home of Joy Williams hosted by Holly Williams, friend of the bride.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner July 13 at the Balcony of Wilmington. The groom chose this time to present gifts to his attendants.
