Lucinda Faye Hime of Sumter, S.C., and Capt. Benjamin Thomas Pierce of Sumter exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 23 at 2 p.m. at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Chapel, with Father Thomas Norris officiating.

The bride is the daughter of William Michael Kaglic of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of William Kaglic and Nora Kaglic of Goldsboro and Ray Hime and the late Lorrena Greer of Orlando, Fla.

She is a 1998 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and a 2004 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with degrees in psychology and political science. She is employed as a bank manager at Bank of America.

The groom is the son of Joseph and Sharon Pierce of Louisburg and the grandson of Virginia Pierce and the late Edward Pierce of Sylvania, Ohio, and Donald Schimmel and the late Jane O’Conner Schimmel of Hedgesville, W.Va.

He is a 1998 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and a 2002 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy. He is serving in the Air Force, stationed in Sumter.

The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father.

She wore a formal white strapless satin gown with a beaded chiffon split-front overlay and metallic embroidery beadwork including pearls and crystals. The skirt featured a chapel-length train.

Her headpiece was a fingertip-length single-layer veil with scattered pearls, crystals and beads, finished with a crystal and rhinestone tiara.

The bride carried a clutch bouquet of red roses with pearl pins.

Beth Grable-Linares was her friend’s matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Kelsey Martin, cousin of the bride, and Alisha Hime, sister of the bride.

Stephen Pierce was his brother’s best man.

Groomsmen were William Hime, brother of the bride; Harry Lafnear, brother-in-law of the groom; and Travis Kornairehns, friend of the groom.

Angelique Cashwell, daughter of the bride, was flower girl. T.J. Kaglic, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.

Sharon Cosma directed the wedding.

Readers were Thomas Schimmel, uncle of the groom; Col. Jimmy Hull, former teacher of the couple; and Diane Longo, aunt of the groom.

A program of wedding music was provided by Debby Schimmel, pianist, and Vicky Ellis, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, the couple held a reception at Seymour Johnson AFB Officers’ Club’s ballroom.

After a wedding trip to Carolina Beach, the couple reside in Sumter.

Events held before the wedding included a bachelor party at the home of the groom’s parents hosted by the groom’s brother, Stephen Pierce; a bachelorette party in Columbia, S.C., hosted by friends of the bride; and a wedding shower at the home of the bride’s father hosted by Beth Grable-Linares, the groom’s mother and Sharon Cosma, aunt of the bride.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Seymour Johnson AFB Officer’s Club’s terrace room.
