BEULAVILLE — Emily Lauren Ricks and James Warren Lancaster exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony July 28 at 2 p.m. at Mike’s Farm, with the Rev. H. Dennis Draper officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Norman Ricks III of Mount Olive and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Norman Ricks Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. George Rudolph Potts of Mount Olive.

She is a graduate of Mount Olive College with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and computer information systems. She is employed as a relationship banker at BB&T of Pikeville.

The groom is the son of Brenda Keen Lancaster and the late James Wayne Lancaster of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl Eugene Lancaster of Pikeville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Cooper Bert Keen of Mount Olive.

He is a graduate of Wayne Community College. He is employed as an air conditioning and refrigeration technician at Johnson Controls of Raleigh.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore an ivory strapless gown accented with a champagne sash tied at the waist. It flowed into a sweep train.

Her headpiece was a comb of pearls and a fingertip veil.

The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of ivory roses.

Jennifer Ricks Merritt of Mount Olive was her sister’s matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Ingrid Lancaster Maciulis of Holly Springs, sister of the groom, and Chancey Price Thompson of Seven Springs, friend of the bride.

Christian Thomas Maciulis of Holly Springs, nephew of the groom, was best man.

Groomsmen were Kestas Maciulis of Holly Springs, brother-in-law of the groom; Geoffrey Wayland Merritt of Mount Olive, brother-in-law of the bride; and George Rudolph Potts Jr. of Mount Olive, uncle of the bride.

Hunter Ricks Merritt of Mount Olive, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.

Scottie Toler Bryan directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Diane Bishop Joyner. Debbie Keen Daniels distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Brandi Mohiser Worth and Josephine Holding Ricks, vocalists; Paige Vickory Barwick, violinist; and Dr. Marilyn Wienand, harpist.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception.

The couple reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower July 15 at First United Methodist Church hosted by friends of the bride; a bridesmaids’ luncheon July 14 hosted by Jennifer Merritt and Donna Ricks; a dinner party July 7 at Southern Belle Restaurant hosted by family of the bride; a surprise bridal shower June 27 at BB&T in Fremont hosted by co-workers of the bride; a bridal shower June 24 at Eureka Christian Church hosted by the Keen family; a brunch June 23 at Murphy’s Place hosted by friends of the bride; and a luncheon June 16 at Goldsboro Country Club hosted by friends of the bride.

The groom’s mother held an after-rehearsal dinner at the Country Squire in Warsaw.
