Glena Ja’net Smeltzer and Paul Spencer Lewis exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony July 14 at 5 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Gene Carpenter, the Rev. George Stenhouse and the Rev. Ray D. Smeltzer Jr., father of the bride, officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Ray David Smeltzer Jr. and Frankie Diane Smeltzer of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Barbara Smeltzer Dobbins, the late Ray David Smeltzer Sr., Dorothy P. Sutton and the late William F. Sutton of Goldsboro.

The groom is the son of John Dortch Lewis Jr. and Jenny Bridgers Lewis of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late John Dortch Lewis Sr., Carolyn Stenhouse Lewis and Delmus and Jean Bridgers of Goldsboro.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a satin A-line dress with a split-front overskirt with embroidery and a chapel train.

Her headpiece was a crystal and rhinestone tiara with a short two-tier veil with scattered rhinestones.

The bride carried a bouquet of white calla lilies.

Diana Rae Smeltzer was her sister’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Caroline Lewis, Stephanie Lewis, Amber Lynch, Renn McMurray, Stephanie Whitaker and Beth Willis.

John Dortch Lewis Jr. was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Parker Bell, Joey Enriquez, Troy Haithcock, Jeff Horton, Dortch Lewis, Gaston Lewis, David Smeltzer and David Wallace.

Peyton Grace Whitaker was flower girl.

Isabella Rae Smeltzer and Emma Grace Lewis, daughters of the couple, were miniature brides.

Presiding at the register was Stephanie Howell. Susie Davis and Landon Sutton distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Jason Braswell, vocalist, and Bill Hayes, organist.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at the church.

After a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple reside in Goldsboro.

Friends and family of the groom will hold a wedding celebration Aug. 18 at Goldsboro Country Club.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal brunch July 14 at the home of John and Jenny Lewis hosted by Mrs. Lewis and a wedding shower June 24 at the Steak Barn hosted by the bride’s mother.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Walnut Creek Country Club.
