Jennifer Elizabeth Wilson and Jeffry Spencer Sparrow exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 16, at 4 p.m. at Pikeville Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, with Dr. Don Sauls officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Wiley Norwood and Sandra Hartley Wilson of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Elizabeth Wooten, the late Norwood Cole Wilson, Mary Hartley Beard and the late William Arthur Hartley of Goldsboro.

She graduated in 2000 from Wayne Christian School and Wayne Community College in 2002 with a degree in early childhood education and in 2005 with a degree in medical office administration. She is employed as an instructional assistant at Grantham School.

The groom is the son of Elvin Pete and Cynthia Whaley Jones of Seven Springs and the grandson of Mary Lee Register of Kinston and the late Clarence Jones of Kinston and the late Ralph Spencer Whaley, Judy Ward Gibson and Phillip Gibson of Seven Springs.

He is a 1999 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2004 graduate of the basic law enforcement training. He is employed as a deputy sheriff at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a white gown of satin with a fitted bodice of embroidery and sequins. The dropped waistline led to a bustled skirt accented by tucking of sequins.

Allison Speight was matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Julie Faucette, Paige Serlick and Melissa Howell.

Derek Sparrow was best man.

Groomsmen were Pete Jones, James Serlick and Matt Miller.

Ushers were Derek Sparrow, Pete Jones, James Serlick and Matt Miller.

Bailey Jones was flower girl. Kirk Miller was ringbearer.

Lynn Mooring directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs were Pam Minshew and Debbie Moore

A program of wedding music was provided by Jason Cox, pianist and vocalist; and Jaime Cox, vocalist; and Jeff Martin, sound technician.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Jennifer Hansley cut the wedding cake. Jean Biggerstaff, Patricia Speight, Trudi Rast, Stephanie Sauls and Brandi Hinnant were servers.

After a wedding trip to Kona, Hawaii, the couple reside in Pikeville.

Events held before the wedding included a bridesmaids’ brunch/spa June 9 hosted by Sandra Wilson and Twonana Campbell; a tool shower June 2 hosted by Derek Speight and Wiley Wilson; a lingerie shower June 2 hosted by Julie Faucette and Allison Speight; a miscellaneous shower May 16 hosted by kindergarten co-workers at Grantham School; a bachelorette weekend May 12 hosted by the bridesmaids; a miscellaneous shower May 6 hosted by Lynn and Elaine Hartley, Renee Hinson and Sheila Stafford; a home and garden shower April 22 hosted by Cindy Jones; a shower March 28 hosted by the LOV group; and a Christmas shower Dec. 27 hosted by Sandra Wilson and Allison Speight.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner June 15 at Pikeville Church.
