Mrs. Keener

Melinda Jo Moore and Jonathan Mark Keener exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 16 at 2 p.m. at Bethel Church, with the Rev. Steve Holder and the Rev. Alvin C. Keener officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Linda Suggs Moore of Goldsboro and the late Joseph Ronald Moore Sr. of Harrels and the granddaughter of the late Almer and Liston Moore of Harrels and Mavis Suggs and the late James Suggs of Pikeville.

She is a graduate of Charles B. Aycock High school and Johnston Community College with a degree in cosmetology. She is employed as a hair stylist at Sizzor Trix.

The groom is the son of the Rev. Alvin Clark and Lillian Gardner Keener of LaGrange and the grandson of the late Mark Keener and Martha Keener of Jessup, Ga., and Donna Gardner and the late Joseph Gardner of Screven, Ga.

He is a graduate of Parrot Arendall Academy and East Carolina University with a degree in business management. He is employed as a teacher at Cleveland Middle School of Garner.

The bride was escorted by the Rev. Steve Holder and given in marriage by her family.

She wore a champagne strapless two-piece lace beaded skirt with a corset bodice and a lace-up back.

Her headpiece was a champagne cathedral-length veil with pearls.

The bride carried a bouquet of multicolored Gerber daisies and chrysanthemums.

Kristie Howell, friend of the bride, and Erica Moore, sister-in-law of the bride, were matrons of honor.

Bridesmaids were Kellie Keener, sister-in-law of the groom, Carla Foran, Mindy Barrett, Caitlyn Weeks, Amber Summers, Jennifer Sexton and Tana Horne.

Alvin Keener was best man.

Groomsmen were Daniel Keener and Adam Keener, brothers of the groom; Joey Moore and Allen Moore, brothers of the bride; Tyler McCall; Drew McGowan; Troy Horne; Stewart Howell; Kendrick Exum; and Steven Reese.

Tressa Horne, friend, was the junior bridesmaid.

Brenna Moore was flower girl. Callahan Reese was ringbearer.

Kim Scrufari and Lisa Jones directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs were Clare Narron and Cara Narron.

A program of wedding music was provided by Rich Holder, pianist, and Melinda Moore, Crystal Vinson and Allen Moore, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church family life center.

After a wedding trip to Bar Harbor, Maine, the couple reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a man shower June 1 hosted by Cleveland Middle School teachers; a lingerie shower May 18 hosted by Kristie Howell; a miscellaneous shower April 22 hosted by family and friends; a Pampered Chef shower March 26 hosted by Linda McCaskil and Caitlyn Weeks; a miscellaneous shower March 25 hosted by the Keener family; and a man shower March 3 hosted by the Keener family and Allen Moore.

A rehearsal dinner was held in the church family life center.
