Jarnagin - Bish
Jena Marlene Bish and 2nd Lt. John Brooks Jarnagin exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 19 at 4 p.m. at First Pentecostal Holiness Church, with Pastor Jimmy Whitfield officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Jenny Harrell Coudriet of Goldsboro and Robert L. Bish of Clarion, Pa., and the granddaughter of Calvin and Marlene Edwards and Ellis and Janet Harrell of Goldsboro and Robert and Jane Bish of Clarion.
She is a 2004 graduate of Rosewood High School and attends Pitt Community College.
The groom is the son of Willie and Delette Carroll Jarnagin of Goldsboro and the grandson of Bill and Peggy Carroll of Goldsboro, Russ and Pat Westfall of North Adams, Mass., the late Keith Jarnagin of Marysville, Calif., and Reba Westfall of Stockton, Calif.
He graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 2002 and East Carolina University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice with a minor in military science. He is serving in the Army with military intelligence.
The bride was escorted by her brother and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a strapless matte satin A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline and an embroidered bodice with crystal beading and a gathered train with crystal appliqués.
Her headpiece was a tiara accented with crystals and an elbow-length veil with a rolled satin edge.
The bride carried a cascading bouquet of white and red roses, stephanotis, delphinium and green foliage.
Summer Graham was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Jessica and Lindsay Jarnagin, sisters of the groom, and Katie England, friend of the bride.
Willie Jarnagin was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Jim Bish, brother of the bride, and Jeffery O’Neal and Scott Walker, friends of the groom.
Brian Taylor, cousin of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Nikki Zombolas, friend of the bride. Laken and Thomas Barnes, cousins of the bride, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Carolyn Castanata, pianist, and Boy and Lydia Mills, vocalists.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Lane Tree Golf Club. Rick Thornton provided the blessing. Teresa Baker was director.
Guests attended from Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, California, Georgia, Florida and North Pole, Alaska.
After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple reside at Ft. Bragg.
Events held before the wedding included a bridesmaids’ luncheon May 18 hosted by Summer Graham and Deborah Graham; a bachelorette and lingerie party May 12 in Wilmington hosted by Lindsay Jarnagin, sister of the groom, and Summer Graham; a bachelor weekend May 12 in Atlantic Beach hosted by the groom’s father; a bridal shower March 30 at the home of John and Jane Walston hosted by Jane Walston and Ann Barnes, aunt of the bride; a bridal and tool shower cookout March 17 at Salem United Methodist Church hosted by Dale and Cindy Carroll, Todd and Jenny Carroll and Greg and Susan Basden, uncles and aunts of the groom; a Christmas ornament shower Nov. 24 at the home of the groom’s parents hosted by his parents and Cindy Carroll; and an engagement pig picking Sept. 16 at the home of the groom’s parents.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner May 18 at Lane Tree Golf Club.
