Thompson - Snyder
ATLANTIC BEACH — Kristen Snyder of Raleigh and Scott Thompson of Raleigh exchanged vows in a double-ring beachside ceremony May 11 at 5:30 p.m. at Fort Macon State Park, with the Rev. Anne Sims officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Jerry and Debbie Snyder of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Grace Kersten of Goldsboro, the late James Kersten of Little Valley, N.Y., and Mona Green and the late Mark Green of Mishawaka, Ind.
She is a graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and Meredith College with a bachelor’s degree in interior design. She is employed as an interior designer at Norwalk.
The groom is the son of Cleve and Sharon Thompson of Fremont and the grandson of Wilma Thompson and the late G.C. Thompson of Pikeville and Myrtle Strickland and the late Arnold Strickland of Fremont.
He graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School and North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s degree in agronomy. He is employed as assistant superintendent at Wilson Country Club.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a strapless sweetheart mermaid-style gown with a re-embroidered lace overlay.
Her headpiece was an angel-style veil.
The bride carried a clutch of blush and white peonies.
Heather Lindsay was her friend’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Sarah Smith, friend of bride, and Mary Kalarickal, friend of bride.
Cleve Thompson was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Jason Thompson, brother of the groom, and Mark Snyder, brother of the bride.
Brandon Davis, friend of the couple, was the usher.
Roger Carter directed the wedding. Anna Maxwell and Dana Smith, friends of the couple, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Steel Drums.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Dunes Club.
After a wedding trip to Aruba, the couple reside in Raleigh.
Events held before the wedding included a lingerie shower in April at the Smith home hosted by Sarah and Patti Smith and a bridal shower in March at Primp Salonbar hosted by Sarah and Patti Smith, Mary Kalarickal and Heather Lindsay.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at a rental oceanside beach house.
