WILSON — Jennifer Lyn Meeks and Russell Eric Wade of Pikeville exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Dec. 2 at 4 p.m. at Living Waters Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Ralph L. Downing officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Edward Ray and Judith Bass Meeks of Wilson and the granddaughter of Bruce and Eva Meeks of Wilson and Mildred Hayes and the late Benjamin Franklin Bass of Lucama.

She graduated from Barton College with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. She is employed as a staff accountant at Anthony, Moore & Tabb P.A.

The groom is the son of the Rev. Glenn and Rachel Splawn Wade of Spartanburg, S.C., and the grandson of the late Hunter and Fannie G. Wade and the late Charles G. and Fannie B. Splawn.

He graduated from the University of South Carolina at Spartanburg with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. He is owner/operator of Chick-Fil-A at Berkeley Commons.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a formal gown of white satin. The satin bodice was enhanced with beaded lace and scalloped edging. The gown featured a tulle skirt with lace appliqués and flowed into a chapel-length train.

Her veil of silk illusion trimmed with pearls was attached to a scroll tiara accented with rhinestones, crystal and pearls.

The bride carried a bouquet of red roses.

Pamela M. Cason was her sister’s matron of honor, while Michele L. Meeks, sister of the bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Amanda E. Evans, cousin of the bride, Teresa M. Babcock and Shantia M. Bass.

Glenn Wade was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Anthony Wade, brother of the groom, Kevin Cooksey, Alfonzo Jones II and Jon McInnis.

Madison A. Bass was flower girl. Tyler B. Cason, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.

Paula Jones directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Jane B. Evans, aunt of the bride. Blake E. Cason, nephew of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Susan Denton, pianist; Michele Meeks, sister of the bride, and Kevin Denton, vocalists; Dee Braxton-Pellegrino, violinist; and Floyd Nichols, sound technician.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at Barton College Hardy alumni hall.

After a wedding trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple reside in Pikeville.

Events held before the wedding included a bridesmaids’ breakfast Dec. 2 at the home of Judy Meeks hosted by the bridesmaids; a lingerie shower Nov. 18 at the home of Teresa Babcock hosted by Ms. Babcock and Shantia Bass; a shower Nov. 6 at the home of Jessica Clark hosted by ladies of Faith Free Will Baptist Church; and a shower Nov. 4 at the home of Judy Meeks hosted by friends and family of the bride.

A rehearsal dinner was held Dec. 1 at the Rib Hut.
