INDIAN BEACH — Cherity Marie Loudermelt and Kenneth Earl Gurganus exchanged vows in a double ring ceremony Oct. 28 at 4 p.m. at St. Francis By the Sea, with the Rev. Bill Rose officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Dan and Judy Loudermelt of Mill Spring and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. H.D. Loudermelt of Cranberry and Laura Parlier and the late Ernest Parlier of Banner Elk.

She is a 2000 graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The groom is the son of Pearl Gurganus and the late Willie Gurganus of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late John and Irene Gurganus and the late Leonard and Hazel Grady of Goldsboro.

He is a 1988 graduate of Faith Christian Academy. He is employed as the general manager of Fat Cat Pawn and Jewelry.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore an ivory satin, strapless A-line gown with red trim, a red ribbon lace up back and a sweep train.

Her headpiece was a coordinating ivory fingertip-length lace veil with red ribbon trim and appliqués embellished with Swarovski crystals.

The bride carried a cluster bouquet of red roses.

Bridesmaids were Faith Loudermelt of Charlotte and Hope Figuero of Rock Hill, S.C., sisters of the bride, and Joy Loudermelt of Houston, Texas.

Groomsmen were Mason Campbell of Goldsboro, nephew of the groom, and Derrick Smith of Goldsboro and Andrew Hodak of Raleigh, friends of the groom.

Presiding at the register was Nancy Callentine of Seven Springs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Todd Doss of Goldsboro.

Robin Glasser of Raleigh read an Apache wedding blessing.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at St. Francis. A three-tiered chocolate wedding cake with red roses was served.

After a wedding cruise to the western Caribbean, Mexico and Florida, the couple reside in Dudley.

Events held before the wedding included an early-bird dinner Oct. 26 at Clawsons 1905 Restaurant in Beaufort followed by the Beaufort Ghost Walk and brunch Oct. 28 at Ruckerjohns in Emerald Isle.

A rehearsal dinner was held Oct. 27 aboard a Diamond City Cruises charter in Beaufort.
