MOUNT OLIVE — Jessica Lynn Barnett and Christopher Dowling Byrd exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 14 at 5 p.m. at Cricket Ridge Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. John Mark Windley officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Kirk and Connie Barnett of Dudley and the granddaughter of John Barnett, the late Betty Barnett and Harvey and Peggy Jernigan of Dudley.

She is a 2002 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2004 graduate of Johnston Community College with an Associate of Science degree in radiology. She is employed as a radiologic technologist at Wayne Radiologists PA.

The groom is the son of Linda Byrd and the late Stanley Byrd of Albertson.

He graduated from East Duplin High School in 1997. He is employed as a shift supervisor at Coastal Carolina Clean Power.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a strapless white satin gown with a pearl beaded and sequin bodice and an A-line skirt.

Her elbow-length single-tiered veil was scattered with pearls.

The bride carried a cascading bouquet of roses, gerbera daisies and autumn flowers.

Ashley Barnett served as her sister’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Penny Barefoot and Christal Holland, friends of bride, and Tiffany Thornton, cousin of the bride.

Billy Ray Daniels was his friend’s best man.

Groomsmen were Clint Britt, Jonathan Miller and Jeremy Turner, friends of the groom.

Kayla Thornton, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Tyler Holmes, nephew of the groom, was ringbearer.

Margaret Spaugh directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs was Kim Henderson.

A program of wedding music was provided by Dr. Alan Armstrong, pianist, and Christal Holland, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, a buffet reception was held in the church fellowship hall.

After a wedding trip to Freeport and Nassau, Bahamas, the couple reside in Albertson.

Events held before the wedding included a lingerie shower Oct. 5 hosted by co-workers of the bride; a miscellaneous bridal shower Sept. 17 hosted by the groom’s family; a miscellaneous bridal shower Sept. 10 hosted by the bride’s family; and a Pampered Chef bridal shower Aug. 20th hosted by friends of couple.

The groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner in the church fellowship hall.
