Saylors - Bizzell
MOREHEAD CITY — Beverly Elizabeth Bizzell and Benjamin Kyle Saylors were married Oct. 14 at 4 p.m. at Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church, with the Rev. M. Eugene Carpenter officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Robert Bizzell of Kinston and the granddaughter of William Carl Bizzell of Mount Olive, the late Beryl Reams Bizzell and Mr. and Mrs. Evan Sylvanus Setzer Jr. of Greensboro.
She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and East Carolina University with a Master of Arts degree in clinical psychology. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She was presented in 1998 at the North Carolina Terpsichorean Ball in Raleigh. She is employed as a licensed psychological associate with Wellsprings Center.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Clark Saylors of Goldsboro and the grandson of Luther Davis Saylors, the late Dorothy Clark Saylors and Mrs. Paul Dewey Schiller of Goldsboro and the late Mr. Schiller.
He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics. He was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He is employed as a real estate appraiser with Wayne Appraisal Services.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a strapless candlelight silk satin gown with an asymmetrical ruching embellished with Swarovski crystals and a sable satin sash tied at the waist.
Her chapel-length veil was trimmed in candlelight silk satin.
The bride carried a bouquet of ivory roses, hydrangea and dendrobium orchids.
Margaret Reams Bizzell of Raleigh served as her sister’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Katherine Leigh Bradner of Charleston, S.C., Ashley Virginia Carson of Greensboro, Shanah Eve Fuerst and Elizabeth Kirkpatrick Saylors of Raleigh, Catherine Wilkins Gregory of Wilmington, Del., Jessica Clay Sayers of Arlington, Va., and Dr. Laura Whaley Wellington of Wilmington.
Michael Clark Saylors was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Jeffrey Hamilton Cooke and John Dortch Lewis III of Raleigh, Eric Lee Hartman of Atlanta, Ga., Justin Michael Lewis of Southern Pines, John Joseph Sauls of Charleston, and Paul Davis Saylors of Charleston and Jason Michael Saylors of Raleigh, brothers of the groom.
Christina Claire Anglin of Chapel Hill was crucifer. Margaret Reams Bizzell and Katherine Brittain Hobbs were scripture readers.
Ivy Robinson directed the wedding. Riley Cathleen Maness and Jonathan Robbins Maness, cousins of the bride, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Dr. Antoinette Tracy Anglin, organist; Joe Brinson, trumpeter; and Simple Gifts string trio.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at Coral Bay Club of Atlantic Beach. Dr. and Mrs. Samuel Joseph Gilmore and Mr. and Mrs. John Franklin Marston greeted guests.
After a wedding trip to Saint John, U.S. Virgin Islands, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a bridesmaids’ luncheon Oct. 13 at Coral Bay Club hosted by the maid of honor; a sound side supper Oct. 12 at the home of the bride’s parents; a bachelor weekend Sept. 29 hosted by the groomsmen in Wrightsville Beach; a bachelorette weekend and shower Sept. 15 in Washington DC hosted by the bridesmaids; a bridal shower Aug. 26 at Torero’s Restaurant hosted by coworkers of the bride; a dinner dance Aug. 19 at Kinston Country Club hosted by friends of the bride and her parents; a summer supper May 20 at the home of the groom’s parents hosted by friends of the groom and his parents; and a stock-the-bar party May 13 at the home of James Bell Black IV and at Rush Lounge in Raleigh hosted by friends of the couple.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Oct. 13 at the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores.
