PRINCETON — Ashley Noel Poole and Joshua Earl Whisneant exchanged promises June 24 at 3 p.m.

Ferrell Hardison officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Whitley Church.

Parents of the bride are Michael I. and Lea Ann Poole of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of William Aurther and Lodema Wear Millsaps of Milan, Tenn., Ruth Robertson Kelly of Clinton, Ky., and the late Roger I. Poole of Hermitage, Tenn.

Parents of the groom are Jimmy Earl and Velena Marie Whisneant of Silsbee, Texas. He is the grandson of Silvia Marie Space of Vera, Okla., Melvin Sarris Coe of Talala, Okla., and Zelma Maxine Mercer and Aurther James Whisneant of Silsbee.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline covered in beads down to the waistline. It had a chapel train and a 3-inch band of beads around the bottom.

For her headpiece, she chose a tiara covered in pearls and rhinestones. She carried red roses.

Sarah Poole, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Laci Roberts, sister of the groom; Lauren Grantham, Tracie Dowd and Wendy Johnson, friends; Caitlin Poole and Rachel Pool, sisters of the bride; and Abbey Watson, cousin of the bride.

Jimmy Whisneant was his son’s best man. Ushers were Rick Elmore and Anthony Parrott, friends. Groomsmen were Jason Roberts, brother-in-law of the groom, and David McClure, Kevin Dowd, Cesar Arocha, Jimmy Bryant, John Eskridge and Andy Stovall, friends.

Hollie Roberts, niece of the groom, was flower girl.

Kirsten Stovall directed the wedding.

Presiding at the register was Amanda Glisson, friend. Leann Pickard, friend, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Jared Grantham, Lauren Grantham and Rick Elmore, vocalists.

After a wedding trip to the Dominican Republic, the couple will reside in Silsbee.

The bride is a 2006 graduate of Wayne Community College with an AAS degree in business administration.

The groom graduated in 2001 with degrees in nutrition and anatomy and a master’s degree in biological mechanics.

He is employed as an evangelist in strength ministries with Power Force.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the carpenter’s house behind the church.

The bridesmaids held a personal shower May 17.

On May 7, Betty Grantham held a bridal tea at Whitley Church.

A rehearsal dinner was held at Whitley Church fellowship hall.
