TOPSAIL BEACH — Emily La Ree Jorgensen of Albuquerque, N.M., and Jesse Aycock Blackman Jr. of Albuquerque said their vows May 19 at 5 p.m.

Dr. Wallace Kirby officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Emma Anderson Memorial Chapel.

Parents of the bride are the late Sharon L. Jorgensen of Somers, Conn., and Paul R. Jorgensen Sr. of Dataw Island, S.C. She is the granddaughter of the late Charlotte I. Talley and H. Edward Talley of Kingston, Okla., and the late Gunnar P. and Eleanor K. Jorgensen of Somers.

Dr. Jesse Aycock Sr. and Norma K. Blackman of Fremont are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Clyde E. and Norma S. King of Goldsboro and Elizabeth A. Blackman and the late John W. Blackman of Fremont.

The bride was given in marriage by her father and three brothers and escorted by her father.

Christine M. Grondin was matron of honor. Elizabeth G. Blackman was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Meghan R. Malone-Moses, Beth Jorgensen and Beth Smiley.

Dr. Jesse A. Blackman Sr. was best man. Ushers were Sam Evans, Alex Blackman, Paul R. Jorgensen Jr. and Eric Jorgensen. Groomsmen were Kris Pate, Shawn Fahey, Kurt Jorgensen and Jack Morton.

Rachel Munro directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Mallory Peacock, Mary Clyde Peacock and Blythe Evans. Miranda Evans and Hadley Peacock distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by a string trio from Wilmington.

After a wedding trip to the Outer Banks, the couple is residing in Albuquerque.

The bride is a graduate of Auburn University with an undergraduate degree in health promotion, Wayne State University of Michigan with a master of arts degree in sports administration and the University of New Mexico with an MBA. She is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She attends the University of New Mexico for a Ph.D. in sport administration.

The groom graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor of arts degree in physical education, Appalachian State University with a master of arts degree in sport management and the University of New Mexico with an MBA and Ph.D. in sport administration. He is employed as assistant director of media relations at the University of New Mexico.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Assembly building at Topsail Beach.

On May 18, Susan Haakonsen-Jorgensen held a bridesmaids’ luncheon in Topsail Beach.

A cookout was held May 17 at the Blackman family beach cottage in Topsail Beach.

A rehearsal dinner was held at Breezeway Restaurant of Topsail Beach.
