Buckner - West
FLETCHER — Leslie Carroll West and Michael Todd Buckner said their promises Saturday, March 25, at 3 p.m.
The Rev. Paul Thompson officiated at the double-ring ceremony at The Orchard at Broadmoor Golf Course.
Fred and Catherine West of Arden are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Grace H. Smith of Goldsboro, the late John Lee Smith and Frances M. West of Fremont and the late Rudolph B. West.
Parents of the groom are Dennis Buckner and Deanna Constance of Asheville and Connie Morton and Mike Rhinehart of Canton. He is the grandson of Nancy Hamlin of Weaverville.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless ivory and champagne A-line gown with a cascading side drape with a brooch attached to the waist and a sweep train.
For her headpiece, she chose a rum-colored flip veil embellished with freshwater pearls and crystals.
Emily West of Candler, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Karlie West of Pikeville, cousin of the bride, was the bridesmaid.
Dennis Buckner was his son’s best man. Chris Moody, friend of the g room, was the groomsman. Ushers were Tyler and Jordan Moody, friends of the groom.
Allison Stoller, cousin of the groom, was flower girl. Chris Buckner, son of the groom, was ring bearer.
Winnie Fisher, friend of the bride, assisted with the wedding. Presiding at the register was Christy Gambill, friend of the bride. Sarah Bradley, friend of the bride, distributed programs.
After a wedding cruise to the Bahamas, the couple is residing in Candler.
The bride is employed as head teller with Mountain 1st Bank and Trust of Fletcher.
The groom is employed as a driver for Rice Trucking of Candler.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at The Orchard dining hall.
The bride’s family held an after-rehearsal dinner March 24 at the home of the bride’s parents.
On March 24, Sarah Bradley held a bachelor/bachelorette party.
Sarah Bradley held a lingerie shower Feb. 19.
On Nov. 12, Barbara Herring, Linda Ervin, Lou Ann Smith, Kelly West, Rebeccah West and Beth Kirby, aunts of the bride, and Grace Smith and Frances West, grandmothers of the bride, held a miscellaneous bridal shower at Salem United Methodist Church.
