DUDLEY — Karen Denise Seymour and Kevin Ben Strickland exchanged promises April 7 at 7 p.m.

The Rev. Johnny Sasser officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Emmaus Baptist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Wayne and Barbara Seymour of Seven Springs. She is the granddaughter of the late Ruse and Flossie Daughety and the late Randolph and Mabel Seymour of Kinston.

Parents of the groom are Major Jr. and Glenda Strickland of Seven Springs. He is the grandson of the late John and Verdie Daniels of Goldsboro and Lucille Strickland and the late Major Strickland of Seven Springs.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless gown of ivory bridal satin. The bodice was adorned with sequins, seed pearls and bugle beads of ivory and silver. The gown flowed into a chapel train.

For her headpiece, she chose a tiara with silk roses and sequins in her hair. She carried a bouquet of red and ivory roses.

Casey Heath, daughter of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Christy Humphrey of Pink Hill, sister of the bride; Ashley Strickland of Seven Springs, sister of the groom; and Dr. Beth Seymour of Kinston, sister-in-law of the bride.

Major Strickland was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Danny Strickland of Seven Springs, cousin of the groom; Terry Strickland of Seven Springs, brother of the groom; and Cannon Heath of Seven Springs, son of the bride.

Makala Humphrey, niece of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid.

Nora Sasser and Jane Strickland directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs was Makala Hum-phrey.

A program of wedding music was provided by Jane Strickland.

After a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple is residing in Seven Springs.

The bride is employed as a customer service manager with First Choice Food Service of Wilson.

The groom is employed as a systems representative with Johnson Controls of Raleigh.

Following the ceremony, the couple held a reception in the church reception hall. Clarence Barnette was the server. Peggy Jordan and Faye Phillips served the wedding cake and poured punch.

On March 12, family and friends held a miscellaneous shower at the home of the bride’s parents.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner.
