MOUNT OLIVE — Amber Elaine Head became the bride of Luther Stanley Kelly Jr. Feb. 4 at 2 p.m.

Pastor Ray Warren officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Unity Baptist Church.

Ross and Sandra Head of Mount Olive are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Head Sr. and Nellie Parker of Mount Olive and the late Jessie Sutton.

Stanley and Becky Kelly of Mount Olive are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Edna Singleton and Patsy Kelly of Mount Olive and the late Ralph Kelly.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of white shimmer satin with a square neckline and cap sleeves. Bugle beads and sequins jeweled the bodice and wrap waistline. The back bodice was adorned with scattered beading and uncovered buttons that descended down the length of the chapel train.

For her headpiece, she chose a tiara with a two-tiered elbow-length veil trimmed with sequins. She carried a bouquet of red roses wrapped in ribbon.

Ashley Conder, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Bridgette Sorrell, Ashlie Martin and Sarah Evans of Gainesville, Texas, friends of the bride.

Stanley Kelly Sr. was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Ralph Kelly, brother of the groom; Josh Smith, friend of the groom; and Wilson Head, brother of the bride. Ushers were Robert Doreauk, cousin of the groom, and John Mitchell Kornegay, cousin of the bride.

Daelyn Brock was flower girl. Zachary Ricker was ring bearer.

Dolores Tucker, aunt of the bride, helped direct the wedding. Presiding at the register was Jaime Kelly, sister-in-law of the groom. Chase Kornegay, cousin of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Janet Rose, pianist, and Michele Brock, Mike Perry, Ashley Conder and Ashlie Martin, vocalists.

After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple is residing in Mount Olive.

The bride is a 2003 graduate of Faith Christian Academy and Oklahoma Baptist College with an associate of secretarial science degree.

The groom graduated from North Duplin High School in 2003. He attends Andersonville Theological Seminary of Georgia for a bachelor of ministry degree.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Donnell and Janice Kornegay, uncle and aunt of the bride, greeted guests. Tonda Ricker, friend of the couple, poured punch. Diane Taylor, aunt of the groom, served the wedding cake.

On Feb. 3, Ashley Conder, sister of the bride, and Michele Brock, friend of the bride, held a personal shower.

Janice Head Kornegay, aunt of the bride, held a pound shower Jan. 22 at her home.

On Jan. 8, the groom’s mother held a shower at her home.

Ladies of Unity Baptist Church held a bridal shower Dec. 4 at the church.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Woodmen of the World building of Mount Olive.
