Karen Elizabeth Bucht-mann and Brandon Michael Hinnant pledged their wedding vows Dec. 3 at 3 p.m.

The Rev. Homer Morris officiated at the double-ring ceremony at St. Paul United Methodist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Buchtmann of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Buchtmann of Springfield, Ill., and Leota Knight and the late Sam Leberman of Harrisburg, Ill.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Kascsak and Wayne Hinnant of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Hinnant of Goldsboro and Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Sanford of Clinton, S.C.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal ivory satin gown with a strapless neckline. The bodice featured beadwork with silver accents that highlighted the criss-cross satin waist. The bead work extended down the front and along the edge of the gown. The back bodice had bead work accenting the satin buttons that extended down the back of the multi-layered skirt and cathedral train.

For her headpiece, she chose a tiara accented with rhinestones attached to an ivory tea-length veil trimmed with matching bead work. She carried a bouquet of ivory and red roses wrapped in an ivory sash.

Lauren Buchtmann, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Gina Globke, sister of the groom, and Heather Hughes, friend of the bride.

Wayne Hinnant was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Brooks Rogers, friend of the couple, and Jason Jones, friend of the groom. Jason Buchtmann, brother of the bride, was the usher.

McKenzie Ham, friend of the bride, was flower girl. Austin Globke, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer.

Sheila Warrick directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Jordan Fly, cousin of the bride, and Samantha Hinnant, cousin of the groom. Mac Leberman, cousin of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by George Mewborn, organist.

After a wedding cruise to the Bahamas, Cayman Islands and Mexico, the couple is residing Goldsboro.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at Walnut Creek Country Club. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Leberman and Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Wise, uncles and aunts of the bride, greeted guests.

On Dec. 2, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at the Steak Barn.

Kim Krentz and Liz Dove held a bridal shower Nov. 30 at the Krentz home.

On Nov. 25, friends of the bride held a bachelorette night out.

Co-workers of the bride held a bridal shower Nov. 21 at PrimeCare Physicians.

On Nov. 19, the groomsmen held a bachelor night out.

The groom’s mother and sister held a miscellaneous shower Nov. 15 at the home of the couple.

On Nov. 5, friends of the bride’s mother and teachers from Spring Creek High School held a dinner at Billie’s Backstreet Restaurant.
