SMITHFIELD — Jennifer Ellen Arthur and Bradley Kevin Massey were joined in marriage Oct. 1 at 3 p.m.

The Rev. Dennis Pollock officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Tee’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.

James and Lois Arthur of Princeton are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of E.H. “Cricket” and Melba Dail of Goldsboro and Inez Arthur and the late Acy Arthur of Princeton.

Parents of the groom are Linwood and Judy Massey of Princeton. He is the grandson of Myrtle Hodge of Smithfield, the late C.L. McLamb of Sneads Ferry and the late Milton Ray Jr. and Hilda Massey of Princeton.

Given in marriage and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal white satin off-the-shoulder A-line gown with a scoop neckline embellished with seed pearls and sequins. It had an attached cathedral train.

For her headpiece, she chose a floral tiara with an attached veil accented with seed pearls and rosettes. She carried a clutch bouquet of red gerbera daisies, yellow confetti roses and orange calla lilies.

Taylor Medlin of Raleigh, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Andrea Wallace and Christal Edwards of Princeton and April Page of Cleveland, Tenn., friends of the bride, and Tracy Bamford of Clayton, sister of the groom.

Linwood Massey was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Tracey Blake of Middlesex and Brian Woodall of Smithfield, friends of the groom; Jason Godwin of Selma, cousin of the groom; and David Bamford of Clayton, brother-in-law of the groom.

Sterling Raynor of Pikeville, cousin of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid. Daniel Raynor, cousin of the bride, and Justin Godwin, cousin of the groom, were junior groomsmen.

Anna Peedin was flower girl.

Linda Raynor, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Jennifer Ward. Ashlea Grice distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Kathi Braswell, pianist and vocalist, and Shane Woodall and Christal Edwards, vocalists.

After a wedding trip to Oahu and Kauai, Hawaii, the couple is residing in Princeton.

The bride is a 2002 graduate of Princeton High School and a 2004 and 2005 graduate of Johnston Community College with an associate’s degree in radiology and a certificate in computer tomography. She is employed as a CT technologist with Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The groom graduated from Princeton High School in 1995 and Methodist College in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in professional golf management. He is employed as an IGIVC coordinator at Talecris of Clayton.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Vicky Ward poured punch. Diane Barefoot cut the wedding cake.

On Sept. 30, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at the Steak Barn.

Cindy Aycock, aunt of the bride, held a bridal luncheon Sept. 30 at the Royal Tea Room of Selma.

On Sept. 21, David Bamford and friends held a party at Logan’s Steakhouse.

Friends of the bride held a bachelorette party Sept. 16 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

On Sept. 10, Tracy Bamford held a bridal brunch at her home.

Coworkers of the bride held a miscellaneous shower Sept. 6 at Texas Steakhouse.

On Aug. 21, the groom’s family and friends held a miscellaneous shower at Tee’s Chapel Church.

Linda Raynor and Joyce Barnes, aunts of the bride, and Dawn Evans, Effie Cooke, Barbara Cooke and Tammy Keele, relatives of the bride, held a household shower Aug. 20 at the Raynor home.

On Aug. 6, Ray and LaVerne Rose, Rick and Vanessa Rose, Johnny and Susan Stanley and Chad and Jennifer Ward held a lawn and garden shower at the home of Rick and Vanessa Rose.

The bride’s family held an engagement party June 11 at the home of Bobby and Linda Raynor.
