Julia Rae Frazier and Douglas Trenton Howell exchanged promises Oct. 1 at 3 p.m.

Dr. Glenn Mills officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Highest Praise Tabernacle.

The bride is the daughter of John B. and Barbara J. Frazier and Roger O. and Marsha C. Eakes of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Robert “Bob” and Joyce Joyner and Brenda C. Weaver of Goldsboro and Polly A. Frazier of Gaston.

Douglas F. and Cheryl I. Howell of Princeton and Glenda G. Ludlum of Deep Run are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of John L. “Doodle” and Frances G. Howell and Kenneth and Geraldine Moore of Goldsboro, Thelton “Dino” and Fay Ludlum of Deep Run and the late Chester “Babe” and Katherine G. Ingram.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of white satin and navy with an off-the-shoulder neckline. The bodice was embellished with pearls and sequins accented with navy bugle beads. The A-line skirt was enhanced with beads with navy streams that cascaded into a cathedral train.

For her headpiece, she chose a tiara of Austrian crystals and rhinestones. She carried a round bouquet of roses and baby’s breath.

Kristin A. Wise, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amy M. Garcia, Sandra Spasojevic and Denise D. Griffin, friends of the bride.

Douglas F. Howell was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Kalab D. Tidwell, friend of the groom, and Ashley F. Wheeler, brother-in-law of the groom.

Megan C. Eakes, sister of the bride, was flower girl. Devon S. Vinson, brother of the bride, was ring bearer.

Dana Lancaster and Deanna Wheeler directed the wedding.

After a wedding trip to the Outer Banks, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

The bride is a 2003 graduate of Rosewood High School and a 2004 graduate of Johnston Community College. She is employed at Fantastic Sams.

The groom graduated from North Henderson High School in 1998. He is employed at Doug Howells Auto Service.

Following the ceremony, the couple’s families held a reception in the church fellowship hall.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Sept. 30 at the Steak Barn.
