MOUNT OLIVE — Aaronia Grady and Jonathan Sucy Womble said their promises Sept. 17 at 6 p.m.

Pastor Jack Sauls officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Northeast Original Free Will Baptist Church.

Jacqueline Barwick Grady and the late Billy Vance Grady of Mount Olive are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Maggie Jernigan Barwick and the late James Aaron Barwick of Mount Olive and Billy Ray and Mary Vance Grady of Dudley.

Parents of the groom are James Kenneth and Joan Sucy Womble of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of Delores Soucy and the late Robert J. Soucy of New Bedford, Mass., and Betty Aileen Holloman and the late Max Holloman of Goldsboro.

Given in marriage by her family and escorted by her brother, the bride wore a formal gown of candlelight satin with a strapless neckline. The fitted bodice was adorned with beaded embroidery of bugle beads and rhinestones that ended in a drop waistline accented with scalloped lace. The A-line skirt was embellished at the hem with embroidery lace and crystals. The back bodice had a wrap carriage adorned with rosettes that cascaded into a semi-cathedral train.

For her headpiece, she chose a comb of rhinestones and pearls adorned with crystal accents that extended into a single-tiered veil of silk illusion enhanced with a satin corded edge. She carried a cascading bouquet of mixed roses, daisies and carnations.

Leighanna Grady, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mary Michael Weaver and Brandi Massey, friends of the couple, and Beth Brown, Stephanie Parkhurst and Gail Evans, cousins of the bride.

Kenneth Womble was best man. Groomsmen were Matthew Massey, Daniel Anderson, Chris Kornegay and John Tyndall, friends of the couple, and Jeremiah Womble, brother of the bride.

Harley West was flower girl. Wyatt Womble, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer.

Doris Barwick directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Laura Evans, cousin of the bride. Allison Evans, cousin of the bride, distributed programs.

Special helpers were Jo Brown, Rose Conley, Tammy Evans, Wendy Womble, Roberta Imbrigilo, Peggy Southerland, Tracy Khoury, Buddy Barwick, Sami Khoury and Dana Vinson.

A program of wedding music was provided by Jason Cox, pianist and vocalist, and Jamie Cox and Emily Taylor, vocalists.

After a wedding trip to Orlando, Fla., the couple is residing in Mount Olive.

The bride is a 2002 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2005 graduate of Wayne Community College with an associate’s in science degree in business administration. She attends Mount Olive College. She is employed as an admissions secretary with Mount Olive College.

The groom graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 2002. He attends Wayne Community College for an associate degree in machining. He is employed as a machinist at North Carolina Manufacturing.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.

On Sept. 17, the bride’s family held a lingerie shower.

Thoroughfare Volunteer Fire Department held a shower Sept. 3.

On Sept. 2, Brandi Massey and Leighanna Grady held a lingerie shower at the Massey home.

Mount Olive College held a shower Aug. 19.

On July 30, the bride’s father’s family held a shower.

The bride’s mother’s family held a shower July 24.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at the home of Maggie Barwick.
