Johnson - Turner
KINSTON — Charity Noranne Turner of Greenville and Wesley Lynn Johnson of LaGrange pledged their wedding vows July 30 at 2 p.m.
Dr. Ned Sauls, the Rev. Frank Purvis and the Rev. Ferrell Hardison officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Northwest Christian Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Turner of Red Springs are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Larry Fankhauser of Colorado Springs, Colo., and James Turner of Red Springs.
Mr. and Mrs. Terry L. Johnson of Goldsboro are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Ethelene Durham of Pikeville and the late Richard W. Durham and Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Johnson of Goldsboro.
Presented in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of white satin with a strapless neckline.
Christianne Turner of Greenville, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Wendy Johnson of Goldsboro, sister of the groom; and Bobbie Newton, Meredith Lamb, Shannon Wade, Dawn White, Beth Moore and Kim McNeil.
Terry Johnson was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Philip Anderson of Wisconsin, cousin of the groom; and Matthew McClung, Trey Williams, Jason Trull, Greg Rogers and William Harris. Rupal Patel was the groomswoman.
Elizabeth Wilson of Winterville, friend of the bride, was flower girl. Mark Huffman of Princeton, friend of the groom, was ring bearer.
Liz Creech directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Simone Cooper and April Britton, friends of the bride. Richard Anderson, cousin of the groom, and Elizabeth Radez, friend of the bride, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Phil Huffman, pianist and vocalist, and the Rev. Andy Stovall and Brittanie Taylor, vocalists.
After a wedding trip to St. Maarten, the couple is residing in LaGrange.
The bride is a graduate of East Carolina University with a bachelor of science degree in child life therapy. She is employed as a child life specialist with Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
The groom is employed at WHFL-TV56 as assistant manager and as associate pastor of media and teaching at Whitley Church of Princeton.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at Walnut Creek Country Club. Brianna Durham, cousin of the groom, distributed bubbles.
