KENLY — Wanda Kay Tant of Kenly became the wife of Phillip Jackson Sexton Jr. of Fremont June 25 at 3 p.m.

The Rev. George Arant officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Kenly Missionary Baptist Church.

The bride is the daughter of the late Mona Grady Waters of Goldsboro and the late Charles Kenneth Waters of Rocky Mount.

Betsy Sexton and the late Phillip Jackson Sexton of Mount Olive are parents of the groom.

Given in marriage by her family and escorted by her brother, Edward Waters, the bride wore a white beaded A-line dress with spaghetti straps.

She carried a bouquet of white roses.

Heather Futrelle, daughter of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kristen Aldrich, daughter of the groom; Jennifer Sexton, daughter-in-law of the groom; and Christina Wiggs, niece of the groom.

Phillip Jackson Sexton III was his father’s best man. Ushers were Sammy Evans and Ed Pope, friends of the couple. Groomsmen were Robert Sexton, son of the groom; Charlie Sexton, brother of the groom; and Brian Aldrich, son-in-law of the groom.

Ariel Earp, granddaughter of the bride, was flower girl. Christian Sexton, grandson of the groom, was ring bearer.

Penny Evans directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Kasey Hudson. Julia Minick distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Melora Arant, pianist; Jennifer Sexton, Allen Moor and Melinda Moore, vocalists; and Amber Rhodes, flutist.

After a wedding trip to Washington D.C. and Virginia, the couple is residing in Fremont.

The bride is employed as a secretary with the Johnston County Health Department.

The groom is employed with Cooper-Standard.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.

On June 18, a shower was held at Kenly Missionary Baptist Church.

Co-workers of the bride held a shower at the home of Leah Thorndyke.

Co-workers of the bride held a rehearsal dinner at Kenly Church fellowship hall.
