Tara Lynn Memmelaar became the bride of Michael Brandon Daughtry June 25 at 6 p.m.

Pastor Ray Smeltzer officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Pinewood Presbyterian Church.

Parents of the bride are Quentin and Denise Memmelaar of Snow Hill. She is the granddaughter of Duane Blake and the late Rose-Anne Blake of Holden, Maine, and the late Dr. Joseph and Evelyn Memmelaar of Goldsboro.

Parents of the groom are Kirk and Marlene Daughtry of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of Earl and Doris Barefoot and Mary Harmon and the late A.D. Harmon of Goldsboro, Jesse and Betty Daughtry of Dudley and Dale and Ruby Engles of Clinton.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white halter-top with a satin beaded bodice.

For her headpiece, she chose a waist-length veil trimmed in white satin. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of yellow roses.

Kimberly Memmelaar, sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Catina Hansen, friend of the bride, and Kaci Rousay, friend of the groom.

Kirk Daughtry was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Will Daughtry, Jesse Daughtry and Eric Daughtry, brothers of the groom, and Joseph Memmelaar, brother of the bride.

Presiding at the register and providing a program of wedding music were Bryan Hansen and Beth Creech.

The couple is residing in Snow Hill.

The bride is a 2004 graduate of Pitt Community College with a major in business management. She is employed at Wachovia Bank of Snow Hill.

The groom attended Eastern Wayne High School. He is employed at Shepherd Electric of Goldsboro.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at Quality Inn. Mike and Karen Cooper cut the wedding cake.

On June 24, the groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner at Pinewood Church fellowship hall. The groom chose this time to present gifts to his attendants.

Joseph and Kim Memmelaar, brother and sister-in-law of the bride, held a surprise couple’s shower June 11 at their home in Maury.

On May 15, the groom’s mother held a bridal shower/cookout at the home of the groom.
