BATH — Stella Bailey McAden and Cord Steeves Boykin were united in marriage Saturday, June 25, at 2 p.m.

The Rev. Caraig Hagans officiated at the outdoor ceremony at Island View Shores summer home of the groom’s parents on the Pamlico River.

Dorothy Frazier Bailey and the late James D. Bailey of Wilson are parents of the bride.

The groom is the son of Dr. Thomas C. and Janice T. Boykin of Goldsboro.

Given in marriage by her daughters and escorted by her brother, the bride wore a white line brocade sun dress.

She carried a bouquet of white roses, calla lilies, stephanotis, orchids and miniature ivy.

Lorie Capps Finch and Rhonda Heath Sexton of Wilson were matrons of honor. Bridesmaids were Mallory Kenan McAden and Mary Ashley McAden, daughters of the bride, and Hope Marie Dixon, niece of the bride.

Dr. Thomas Boykin was his son’s best man. Shawn Boykin Moncure, sister of the groom, was the usher. Groomsmen were Richard G. Moncure, brother-in-law of the groom; Bram Clayton Moncure of Charlotte, nephew of the groom; and James “Gib” Bailey of Wilson, brother of the bride.

Lisa Dixon Lowery, friend of the bride, directed the wedding.

After a wedding trip to Wrightsville Beach, the couple is residing in Wilson.

The bride is a graduate of East Carolina University. She is employed as a high school teacher at Hunts High School of Wilson County.

The groom graduated from Western Carolina University of Cullowhee and Flight Safety International of Vero Beach, Fla. He is employed as a pilot with Flight Operations of Cleveland, Ohio.

Following the ceremony, the couple held a pig picking, horse back riding, swimming and boating reception.

On June 24, the couple held a cookout at Island View Shores of Bath.

Friends of the couple held a wedding shower June 18 in Wilson.
