Robin La’Triece Reese and Cedric Davon Booth of Elizabeth City pledged their marriage vows Saturday, June 18, at 2 p.m.
The Rev. Dr. Louis Leigh officiated at the double-ring ceremony at First African Baptist Church.
The bride is the daughter of Bernadette Reese and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Reese of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Elizabeth Ford and the late Charlie Ford of Goldsboro and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Reese of New York.
Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Donald Booth of Pantego. He is the grandson of Eunice Everett of Baltimore, Md., Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Booth and Mr. and Mrs. Aulander Riddick of Pantego.
Presented in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white off-the-shoulder A-line gown with a v-neckline with metallic corded lace accents cascading into a form-fitted bodice with layers of multi tulle and sequins embellished with clusters of rhinestone that complemented the Cinderella-style full skirt. Metallic corded clusters complemented the semi-cathedral-length train. She wore white Cinderella pearl slippers with rhinestone cluster accents.
For her headpiece, she chose a silver crystal three-dimensional tiara that accented an elbow-length two-tiered veil embellished with edges of rhinestone metallic cording. She carried a cascading bouquet of Akito white roses, monalesa pink roses, purple statyce, lavender lisianthus, lavender and purple caspi with miniature ivy.
Eva Lewis of Lawton Okla., friend of the bride, was matron of honor. LaToya Snead of Four Oaks, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Monet Basnight of Elizabeth City, Chaquella Daughtry of Como, and Camico Lee of Goldsboro, friends of the bride; Kimberly McGarry of Woodbridge, Va., sister of the groom; and Shereese Reese of Midlothina, Va., niece of the bride.
William Booth of Greensboro, cousin of the groom, and Thomas Harris of Herndon, Va., friend of the groom, were best men. Groomsmen were Derek Clayton of Greensboro and Garron Everett of Baltimore, Md., cousins of the groom; Jarrod Edmons of Rocky Mount, friend of the bride; and ShaKarian Washington of Belhaven and Nicholas Windley of Hollywood, Calif., friends of the groom. Ushers were Robert Booth of Winston Salem, and Marques Ford of Greensboro, cousins of the groom, and David Williams of Elizabeth City, friend of the groom.
Kiyonna Barnes of Goldsboro, niece of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid. Colby Everett of Baltimore, cousin of the groom, was the junior groomsman.
Erika Booth of Washington, cousin of the groom, was flower girl. Mario Smith of Dudley, friend of the bride, was ring bearer.
Myles Alexander of Dudley, cousin of the bride, and Desmond Barnes of Goldsboro, nephew of the bride, were bell ringers.
KeSean Spruill of Goldsboro, godson of the couple, was Bible bearer.
Comatha B. Johnson of Goldsboro, friend of the bride’s family, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Candance Pigford of Garner, cousin of the groom. Adrienne Barnes of Dudley, friend of the bride, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Kevin Alston of Goldsboro, friend of the bride, organist and vocalist, and Tracy Alston of Goldsboro, friend of the bride, vocalist.
After a wedding trip to Aruba, the couple will reside in Elizabeth City.
The bride is a graduate of Goldsboro High School and Elizabeth City State University in 2003 with a bachelor of arts degree in social work. She is employed as an exceptional children/teacher case manager with the Pasquotank County Public School System of Elizabeth City.
The groom graduated from Northside High School in Elizabeth City and Elizabeth City State University in 2003 with bachelor of science degrees in computer and aviation science. He attends Falmouth Massachusetts graduate school at the United States Coast Guard Base in Elizabeth City for a master’s degree in quality systems management. He is president of the Alpha Upsilon Sigma chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. He is employed as an applications programmer with FC Business Systems of Elizabeth City.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Officers’ Club. Comatha B. Johnson was coordinator. Rita Barnes of Goldsboro, sister of the bride, was head hostess and mistress of ceremony. Danielle Holly of Elizabeth City, friend of the bride, greeted guests. Jimmy Ford of Goldsboro, uncle of the bride, welcomed guests. Adriene Barnes distributed programs. Kristy Wellington of Dudley, friend of the bride, presided at the gift table. A wedding cake adorned with fresh pink ivory, lavender roses and purple larkspur was served by Monica Farrier of Goldsboro, cousin of the bride, and Barbara McAllister of Goldsboro, friend of the bride. LaShona Frederick of Thomasville, cousin of the bride, said good-byes.
Out-of-town guests were from California, New York, Alabama, Oklahoma, Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., Winston Salem, Greensboro, High Point, Thomasville, Raleigh, Elizabeth City, Garner, Washington, Pantego, Como, Rocky Mount , Belhaven, Plymouth and Greenville.
The groom’s parents held an after-rehearsal dinner in First African Baptist Church fellowship hall June 17. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
On June 17, Lisa Richardson of Goldsboro held a hair styling party at A Street Beauty Shop.
Co-workers of the groom held a wedding luncheon June 15 at Tony’s Pizzeria of Elizabeth City.
On June 11, William Booth and Thomas Harris held a bachelor party in Durham.
Monet Basnight held a bachelorette slumber party June 11 at the home of the bride.
On May 27, co-workers of the bride held a surprise bridal shower at Groupers Restaurant of Elizabeth City.
Rita Barnes and Monica Farrer held a miscellaneous bridal shower May 21 at Herman Park Center.
