Mrs. Berry

Pamela Gail Braswell of Princeton and James Matthew Berry of Goldsboro exchanged promises June 4 at noon.

Lynn Berry officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Trinity Baptist Church.

Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Braswell of Four Oaks and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Marshburn of Princeton. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Bartlett and the late Bobby Braswell of Goldsboro and Jean Wellons and the late Phillip Wellons of Princeton.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Berry of Portland, Texas. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sammons and the late Mr. and Mrs. Irving Berry.

Given in marriage and escorted by her stepfather and mother, the bride wore a formal gown of white satin with a jewel neckline accented with a sleeveless fitted bodice embellished with Venise lace, pearls and sequins. The back bodice closed with pearl bridal buttons. The full skirt was beaded at the hemline with pearls and sequins and cascaded into a semi-cathedral train.

For her headpiece, she chose a crown of pearls and sequins that extended into a two-tiered veil of silk illusion fashioned with a penciled edge. She carried a clutch bouquet of red and white roses tied with royal blue ribbon.

Nicole Wiler, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Tiffany Brice, Sarah Kornegay, Crystal Marshburn, Shaneka Murphy and Kathryn Sessoms, friends of the bride.

John Berry of Portland was his brother’s best man. Ushers were Jeff Ashby, Nicholas Hamilton, Shelby Lancaster, Nikolas Rutledge and David Wiler, friends of the groom.

Lydia Wiler, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Savannah Blackwell, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.

Diana Beason directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Lena Edwards. Tabitha Jones distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Trista Locklear, friend of the bride, pianist and vocalist, and Alex Murillo, sound.

After a wedding trip to Honolulu, Hawaii, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

The bride is a 2001 graduate of Rosewood High School and a 2003 and 2004 graduate of Mount Olive College with an associate of science and a bachelor of science degree in education. She is employed as a sixth-grade math teacher at Mount Olive Middle School.

The groom graduated from Christian Life Academy in 1999. He is serving in the Air Force stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Martha Berry, sister of the groom, and Denise Martinez, friend of the groom, served the wedding cake. Savannah Blackwell distributed bubbles.

On May 16, a bridesmaids’ dinner was held at Ryan’s Steakhouse.

Mount Olive Middle School staff and faculty held a surprise household shower May 2.

On April 24, Trinity Baptist Church held a household shower.

A rehearsal dinner was held June 3 at Trinity Baptist Church.
