Mrs. Harris

Sarah Elizabeth Gray and Adam Daniel Harris were united in holy matrimony May 14 at 5 p.m.

The Rev. Gary M. Bailey and the Rev. Barry Williamson officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church.

Mr. and Mrs. John Stephen Gray of Fremont are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond C. Gray of Pikeville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clevie E. Norman Sr. of Fremont.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Eugene Harris of Snow Hill are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Christine P. Harris and the late Clarence J. Harris of Warrenton and the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew S. Kenley Jr. of Portsmouth, Va.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a couture strapless A-line gown of rum pink satin. The bodice was embellished with metallic beaded embroidery. The apron back had an inset chapel-length train of organza with matching embroidery.

For her headpiece, she chose a tiara of gold with Swarovski crystals and an elbow-length veil of ivory tulle enhanced with pearls and crystals with rum pink satin trim. She carried a clutch bouquet of lisianthus, limonium, bouvardia, freesia, spray roses and hybrid tea roses.

Stephanie Gray Lane of Pikeville, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Anna Katherine Harris, sister of the groom, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Blair Rouse Daniels and Tracy Lynn Owens of Pikeville, Elizabeth Price Grantham of Mount Olive and Jennifer Kristan Mynhier of Goldsboro, friends of the bride; Amanda Yelverton Gray of Fremont, sister-in-law of the bride; and Jennifer Elizabeth Norman of Suffolk, Va., cousin of the bride.

Richard Andrew Harris of Raleigh was his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Tommy Travis Grantham and Ralph Junior Kelly of Mount Olive, Louis Elson Hogan of Greenville and Adam Wade Roberts of Dudley, friends of the groom; Christopher Stephen Gray of Fremont, brother of the bride; and Michael Franklin Lane of Pikeville, brother-in-law of the bride.

Grayson Mackenzie Lane of Pikeville, niece of the bride, was the miniature bride. Grifton Michael Lane of Pikeville, nephew of the bride, was the miniature groom.

Presley Elizabeth Gray of Fremont, niece of the bride, was the baby bride.

Dawn Gardner directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Jennifer Johnson, cousin of the bride. Elizabeth Harris, sister-in-law of the groom, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Kristie Bailey, pianist; Kim Honeycutt, organist; and Shannon Prasad, Marcus Pennington and Delores Gray, vocalists.

After a wedding cruise to the Bahamas, the couple will reside in Pikeville.

The bride is a 1999 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2003 graduate of East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in managerial finance. She is employed as a retail servicing officer with BB&T of Fremont.

The groom graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 1999 and East Carolina University in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in construction management. He is employed as an estimator with Stephenson Millwork of Wilson.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception in the church fellowship hall.

On May 20, Michael and Stephanie Lane and Christopher and Amanda Gray will hold a lawn and garden shower at the Lane home.

Co-workers of the bride held a bridal shower May 5 at the home of Audrey Watson.

On April 9, the bridesmaids held a lingerie shower at the home of Blair Daniels.

Friends and family held a bridal shower March 13 at Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church.

The groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner at Stoney Creek Church fellowship hall.
