Sherry L. Sexton of Goldsboro and Adrian F. Brun of Newport exchanged promises April 30 at 1 p.m.

Steve Holder officiated at the double-ring ceremony at El-Bethel Assembly.

Evelyn K. Davis of Goldsboro and Richard Tolson of Moline, Ill., are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Myrtle Tolson and the late Glen Tolson of Moline.

The late Robert and Helen Brun of Dayton, Ohio, are parents of the groom.

Given in marriage by her sons and escorted by Robert Sexton and Phillip Sexton, the bride wore a satin V-neck halter gown with beading on the bodice and skirt.

For her headpiece, she chose a mid-back-length veil. She carried a bouquet of mixed spring flowers with a red carnation in the center.

Kristen Aldrich, daughter of the bride, was matron of honor. Barbara Brun, daughter of the groom, was maid of honor.

Dennis Brun was his brother’s best man. Ushers were Phillip Sexton and Robert Sexton, sons of the bride. Michael Brun, brother of the groom, was the groomsman.

Kim Scrufari directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Sarah Brun, daughter of the groom. David Brun, son of the groom, distributed programs.

Brian Aldrich, son-in-law of the bride, lit the candles.

A program of wedding music was provided by Chris Daly, organist; Jennifer Sexton and Alan Moore, vocalists; and Rich Holder, keyboardist.

After a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

The bride is a graduate of Wayne Community College with an associate degree in nursing. She is employed as a nurse with Home Health Hospice and New Life Properties as a real estate agent.

The groom graduated from Carteret Community College with an associate degree in business. He is retired from the Marine Corps. He is employed as an aircraft sheet metal technician with L3 Communication Integrated Systems Vertex Aerospace at Cherry Point MCAS.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church family life center. Lynn Aldrich, friend of the couple, served the wedding cake.

Out-of-town guests were from Ohio.

On April 23, Kristen Aldrich held a bridal and lingerie shower.

A pig picking rehearsal dinner was held at the church family life center.
