Staci Janelle Scarborough became the bride of Jason Michael Barry of Camp Lejeune Feb. 26 at 2 p.m.

Pastor Andy Stovall officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Whitley Church.

Parents of the bride are Jody and Gail Scarborough of Princeton. She is the granddaughter of Marvin and Geraldine Barfield and the late Ray Evans of Goldsboro and Henry Scarborough and the late Nancy Scarborough of Old Orchard Beach, Maine.

Parents of the groom are Chris and Doretha Barry of Alachua, Fla. He is the grandson of Montine Thomas and the late J.T. Thomas of Lake Butler, Fla., and Elizabeth Higgins and the late George Higgins of Interlachen, Fla.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her parents, the bride wore a strapless satin mock two-piece gown embellished with beaded lace and pearls. The bodice had a scalloped neckline and a stream of covered buttons down the back.

For her headpiece, she chose a lattice beaded and rhinestone tiara with an elbow-length two-tiered veil with a corded edge. She carried a bouquet of white roses, blue delphina and a white lily.

Ashley Turner of Elm City, friend, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Smith of Anchorage, Alaska, cousin, and Kelsey Seymour, Jenny Bazemore and Stephanie Swarthout of Florida, friends.

Brian Barry of Alachua was his brother’s best man. Ushers were Jason Scarborough, brother of the bride, and Sean Murphy of Florida and Jamie Yakubsin and Jeremy Pope of Camp Lejeune, friends of the groom.

Abigail Smith, cousin of the bride, and Sierra Peacock, friend of the bride, were flower girls. Daniel Moody, friend of the bride, was ring bearer.

Kirsten Stovall directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Erin Acree. Kyle Grey distributed programs.

Ann Moore and Dee Roscoe were special helpers.

A program of wedding music was provided by David Wiley and Jane Shattuck, vocalists.

After a wedding trip to Charleston, S.C., the couple will reside in Jacksonville.

The bride is a 2002 graduate of Rosewood High School. She is employed as an afterschool caregiver at Little Tykes Daycare.

The groom graduated from Santa Fe High School of Alachua in 2001. He is serving in the Navy stationed at Camp Lejeune.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Rosewood First Baptist Church family life center. Mr. and Mrs. David Kearns greeted guests. Sheila Esquivel, aunt of the bride, and Vara Lofton, friend, served the wedding cake.

On Feb. 25, a rehearsal dinner was held at the steak barn.

Jennifer Smith and Elizabeth Davis, cousins of the bride, held a miscellaneous shower Feb. 20.

On Feb. 15, co-workers held a shower.
