Mrs. Smith

Melissa Ryan Price and Darian Neal Smith were united in holy matrimony Nov. 20 at 3 p.m.

The Rev. Gary M. Bailey officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Danny Price of Fremont. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Price of Goldsboro and the late Freeman Pelt and Beverly Pelt of Fremont.

Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Bobby R. Smith of Goldsboro and Erlinda T. Crawford of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. O’Neal Smith and the late Aida Midkiff of Goldsboro and the late Alton Renfrow and Hilda Renfrow of Kenly.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a two-piece candlelight wedding gown with a strapless top and a sheath bottom. She wore gloves.

For her headpiece, she chose a cathedral-length veil. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of Virginia roses.

Gail Evans of Fremont, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Beth Pelt of Fremont, cousin of the bride; Lisa Hatem and Ashley Smith of Goldsboro, sisters of the groom; and Ashly Turlington of Hope Mills, friend of the bride.

Bobby R. Smith was his son’s best man. Ushers were Chad Barnes of Goldsboro and Mike Register of Greenville, friends of the groom. Groomsmen were Gabe Brogden of Greenville and Trey Labrecque of Clayton, friends of the groom; Kevin Hatem of Goldsboro, brother-in-law of the groom; and Joshua Price of Fremont, brother of the bride.

Kayla Grant of Fremont and Alyssa Price, Lauren Price and Lily Register of Raleigh, cousins of the bride, were junior bridesmaids.

Kristen Price of Raleigh, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Lyle Register of Raleigh, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.

Dawn Gardner directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Lindsay Jessup of Greenville, friend of the couple. Alyssa Price distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Kim Honeycutt, pianist; Kristie Bailey, organist; Shannon Prasad and Jimmy Wooten, vocalists; and Jimmy Wooten, trumpeter.

After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

The bride is a graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and Wayne Community College’s dental assisting program. She is employed as a dental assistant with Drs. Willard and Keith Hinnant.

The groom graduated from Eastern Wayne High School. He attended Wayne Community College. He is employed as a state trooper with North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception and dance at Goldsboro Country Club. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Pelt, uncle and aunt of the bride, greeted guests.

On Nov. 20, the groom’s father held a lawn and garden breakfast at Wilber’s.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Nov. 19 at Billie’s Restaurant.

Joan Price, grandmother of the bride, and Dean Smiley, friend, held a bridesmaids’ luncheon. The bride chose this time to present gifts to her attendants.

On Nov. 11, co-workers of the bride held a lunch.

On Oct. 23, Lynn Price, Karen Price and Nancy Register, aunts of the bride, held a Christmas shower at the home of the bride’s grandparents.

Friends of the groom held a bachelor weekend Oct. 22 through 24 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

On Oct. 17, Janet Grant and Judy Pelt, aunts of the bride, held a bridal shower at Eureka Methodist Church.

Gail Evans and Beth Pelt held a lingerie shower and bachelorette party Oct. 15 at the home of the couple.

On Oct. 3, friends of the bride and relatives of the groom held a bridal shower at Stoney Creek Church.
