Mr. and Mrs. Vandervort

DUDLEY — Denise Ann Lancaster of Durham and Eric David Vandervort of Durham pledged their promises Oct. 9 at 5:30 p.m.

The Rev. Blaine Smith officiated at the double-ring lakefront ceremony at Sleepy Creek.

The bride is the daughter of Norwood and Patricia Lancaster of Dudley.

Parents of the groom are David Vandervort of Huntsville, Texas, and the late Marilyn Supinski Nation of Brilliant, Ohio, and the stepson of Jean Vandervort of Huntsville.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory satin sheath dress with spaghetti straps and a corset bodice embroidered with flowers and pearls. It had a trumpet-style train.

For her headpiece, she chose a two-tiered veil attached to a crystal tiara. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of roses with hypercium berries and greenery.

Tiffany Barnes, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. B. Zeynep Savas, friend, was the bridesmaid.

David Vandervort was his son’s best man. Christopher Della-Mea, friend of the groom, was the groomsman.

A program of wedding music was provided by Danny and June Infantino, classical guitarist and flutist.

After a wedding trip to Universal Studios and Disney World, Fla., the couple is residing in Durham.

The bride is a graduate of Southern Wayne High School and North Carolina State University with a degree in English. She is employed as a human resources facilitator at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill neuroscience center.

The groom graduated from Buckeye Southwest High School of Ohio and ICM School of Business of Pennsylvania with a degree in computer programming. He is employed as an applications analyst programmer with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill information technology services.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Sleepy Creek Clubhouse. A chocolate wedding cake was served.

A rehearsal dinner was held at Sleepy Creek Clubhouse.
