RALEIGH — Dana Maria King of Morrisville became the bride of Michael Charles Zollo of Morrisville Oct. 2 at 4 p.m.

The Rev. Robert Wachs officiated at the double-ring ceremony, assisted by the Rev. Jerry Chiles.

Parents of the bride are Paul W. and Christine King of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Mack and Georgia Mae King, Lillian Hammond and the late Chris Hammond of Chattanooga, Tenn.

The groom is the son of Douglas Zollo of Clearwater, Fla., and Patricia Zollo of Largo, Fla., and the stepson of Darlene Zollo. He is the grandson of the late Col. Charles and Olga Zollo and the late Bill and Ann Tripp of Clearwater.

Given in marriage and escorted by her father, the bride wore a champagne A-line gown with a chapel-length train. It had a gathered waistline. The empire bodice was decorated with pearls and sequins.

For her headpiece, she chose a handmade gold comb decorated with pearls and Swarovski crystals with a double-tiered, cathedral-length veil with Swarovski crystals scattered throughout both layers. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of yellow and cream roses, purple and white lisianthus, green hydrangea, eucalyptus and a purple iris.

Suzanne Batchelor of Holly Springs was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Tammy Cornelius of Woodbridge, Va., Dr. Leigh Foushee of Fuquay-Varina and Wendy Mitchell of Cary.

Tony McArtor of St. Petersburg, Fla., was best man. Groomsmen were C. Corbin Zollo of Largo, Fla., cousin of the groom, and Jonathan Zollo of Oldsmar, Fla., and Jason Zollo of Dunedin, Fla., brothers of the groom.

Martha Goodson directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs was Janet Whitfield.

A program of wedding music was provided by Caroline Allen, pianist, and Elizabeth Chandler, vocalist.

After a wedding trip to Las Vegas, Nev., Grand Canyon, Ariz., and San Francisco and Napa Valley, Calif., the couple is residing in Morrisville.

The bride is a graduate of Eastern Wayne High School, Wayne Community College and Barton College.

The groom graduated from Ft. Sam Houston with an associate of science degree in radiologic science and 108th Drill Sergeant School with honors. He is employed as an X-ray technician with Durham Regional Hospital and is serving in the Army as a drill instructor.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s father held a reception at Homewood Suites of Cary.

Douglas and Darlene Zollo held a rehearsal dinner Oct. 1 at Carmen’s Cuban Cafe and Lounge of Morrisville.

On Oct. 1, Ann Futrell and Leigh Foushee held a bridal luncheon at Gold Leaf Tea Room of Fuquay-Varina.

Suzanne Batchelor and Janet Whitfield held a couple’s shower Sept. 12 at Forest Hills Baptist Church.

Aug. 21 and 22, a bachelorette weekend was held in Charlotte.

Wendy Mitchell held a lingerie shower Aug. 14.

On March 6, an engagement party was held at the home of Brant and Wendy Mitchell.
