Kimberly Lynn Craw-ford became the wife of Joseph Duane Memmelaar Sept. 4 at 2 p.m.

Melvin Moore officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Grimsley Free Will Baptist Church.

H.C. and Della Crawford of Maury are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of the late George and Melva Crawford of Maury and the late Seth and Mattie Hawkins of Dover.

Parents of the groom are Quentin and Denise Memmelaar of Snow Hill. He is the grandson of the late Dr. Joseph and Evelyn Memmelaar of Goldsboro and Duane and Rose-Anne Blake of Holden, Maine.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white strapless gown with a stain beaded bodice embroidered with white hearts and beads that continued around the train.

For her headpiece, she chose a crown tiara with beads and rhinestones with a two-tiered veil of tulle. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white and pink roses with magnolias and greenery.

Ashley Daughtry, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Blair Grant, cousin of the bride, and Tare Memmelaar, sister of the groom.

Jesse Daughtry was his friend’s best man. Groomsmen were Gary Gurganus and Brandon Daughtry, friends of the groom. Ushers were Dennis Owens, brother of the bride, and Clay Owens, nephew of the bride.

Carolyn Grant directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register and distributing programs were P.J. Bellamy and Ashley Hochmuth.

A program of wedding music was provided by Joan Ginn, cousin of the bride.

After a wedding trip to Maine, the couple is residing in Maury.

The bride is a 2003 graduate of Greene Central High School. She attends East Carolina University majoring in elementary education. She is employed at Kerr Drug of Snow Hill.

The groom graduated from Greene Central High School in 2003. He attends Ashworth College majoring in automotive technology. He is employed at Shepherd Electric of Kinston.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception in the church fellowship hall. Vivian Boone and Phyllis Wainwright greeted guests. Gloria Elks cut the wedding cake. Angie Bullock poured punch.

On Sept. 3, the groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner at Grimsley Church fellowship hall. The groom chose this time to present gifts to his attendants.

Tara Memmelaar, sister of the groom, held a surprise couple’s shower Aug. 7.

On July 17, women of Grimsley Church held a bridal luncheon in the fellowship hall.

The bride’s mother and Wanda Owens, sister-in-law of the bride, held a bridal shower July 10 at Grimsley Church fellowship hall.

On June 26, Carolyn and Blair Grant held a bridal party luncheon at Applebee’s of Greenville. The bride chose this time to present gifts to her attendants.
