MOUNT OLIVE — Kelly Erin Lewis and Brandon Douglas Brock were united in marriage Saturday, Sept. 18 at 2 p.m.

The Rev. Marty Gurganus and the Rev. Doug Bartlett officiated at the double-ring ceremony at First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Parents of the bride are Freddie and Susan Grady Lewis of Grantham. She is the granddaughter of Mattie Baker Grady of Grantham, the late James Henry Grady and the late Harold Frederick and Betty Kelly Lewis.

The groom is the son of Leona Byrd Brock and Alva Douglas Brock of Mount Olive. He is the grandson of Lola Potts Byrd, the late Alton Ray Byrd and Haddie Holmes Brock of Mount Olive and the late Garland Brock.

Presented in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless, A-line gown of ivory satin with an apron back and an organza inset embellished with metallic beaded embroidery.

For her headpiece, she chose an elbow-length veil edged with satin trim attached to a rhinestone tiara. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses and white dendrobium orchids.

Ashley Lewis of Mount Olive, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Jennifer Barwick of Mount Olive, friend of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Meredith McClenny of Mount Olive, Jennifer Moore of Wilmington and Laura Beth Sutton of Seven Springs, friends of the bride, and Leslie Paszek of Greenville, sister of the groom.

Douglas Brock was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Ronald Barwick and Murray McClenny of Mount Olive and Jason Britt and Jeremy Price of Seven Springs, friends of the groom, and Brian Williamson of Hartsville, S.C., cousin of the groom.

Abby Sutton of Dudley, cousin of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid. Ethan Sutton of Dudley, cousin of the bride, was the junior groomsman.

Megan Langston of Goldsboro, cousin of the bride, and Brooke Kornegay of Mount Olive, cousin of the groom, were flower girls. Jonathan Langston of Mount Olive, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.

Phyllis Wilbourne of Clinton, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Jamie and Dana Langston, cousins of the bide. Michael and Mitchell Langston and Taylor Mills, cousins of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Carol Herring, pianist; Tasi Matthews, violinist; and Tracy Richardson, Sean Melvin and Spencer Langston, vocalists.

After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple will reside in Mount Olive.

The bride is a 2001 graduate of Southern Wayne High School. She attends Wayne Community College. She is employed with Duplin County EMS and part-time with Mt. Olive Pickle Co.

The groom graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 2000 and Wayne Community College in 2003 with an associate’s degree in industrial systems technology. He is employed as an electronic technician with Carolina Turkeys.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Pam Barrow and Summer Barrow were directors. Lane and Renee Sutton, uncle and aunt of the bride, greeted guests. Vickie Williams and Linda Langston, aunts of the bride, served the wedding cake. Janet Byrd and Susan Matthews, aunts of the groom, poured punch. Ralph and Ann Williamson, uncle and aunt of the groom, said good-byes.

On Sept. 17, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at the Country Squire of Kenansville. The groom chose this time to present gifts to his attendants.

Co-workers of the bride held a luncheon Sept. 13 at Mt. Olive Pickle Co.

Family of the groom held a bridesmaids’ luncheon Sept. 11 at Oliver’s Railroad Grille of Mount Olive. The bride chose this time to present gifts to her attendants.

On Aug. 22, friends of the couple held a stock-the-shed party at the home of Ronald and Jennifer Barwick.

The groom’s mother held a bridal shower Aug. 15 at her home.

On Aug. 13, Ashley Lewis and Jennifer Moore held a lingerie shower at the Lewis home.

Family of the bride held a miscellaneous shower Aug. 1 at Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

On July 3, Mike and Peggy Tyndall, godparents of the bride, held a dinner party in Morehead City.

Family and friends of the groom held an engagement party June 5 at the home of Keith and Dorothy Evans of Mount Olive.

On May 25, Jennifer Barwick and Meredith McClenny held a Tupperware party at Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
